I'm currently playing as Austria and was really astonished when I got a pop-up stating that the Papal State just joined the Protestant League.

I'm playing on Ironman using the hotfix beta patch for 1.8. Apparently The Papal State was wiped out by Naples, and they randomly spawned in place of a protestant HRE member, which made them protestant. Now they hate me because I'm a Catholic "heretic" and they just joined the Protestant League...

Minor theocracies shouldn't. Bishops converting was a real threat in the HRE. The Papal State converting is hillarious though.

Being so close to the Ottoman empire and since they are protestant as well (lol) I'd also join the protestand league. Lmao!

Well something work wrong here, they think about "A catholic can fight in the evangelical union for political reasons" but some exception exist, like the Pope, actually I think that the only catholic that should enter in the evangelical league are serious power that rival another serious. The Papal state should be out of this.

In one of my game Rome was captured by catholic heretics, were actually quite amusing to see that the holiest of places and center of cathlocism were overrun by heretic and enforcing their demands
