The Papal Empire : A Mission AAR
Prologue
“But he said he was coming…” Jean could not have received worst news.
“He
was coming, Jean. But you know the Empire is at war. Due to the complete instability of Italy, rebellions are a common occurrence. When your father was leaving Firenze, a large army of Tuscan Nationalists rose up. He could not escape in time, and…” Jacques could not bring himself to tell Jean what had happened. “I have sent a letter to the Pope, explaining what happened.”
“I will go myself.”
“No, Jean. I cannot allow it. You might come across the same fate as your father…”
“Then so be it. I leave for Rome in the morning.”

“Your Holiness! France has accepted peace!” the ambassador had traveled from Paris to Rome as fast as he could.
“Excellent.”
“But, rebels have risen in Tuscany, Genova, the Canadian provinces, South Africa, New Zealand, Cuba, Malta, Corsica, Alexandria, Mecca, Judea, Switzerland, and Cape Verde. And the Austrians have sent warning of a large army of Nationalists headed to Venice."
"Venice?"
"Yes, Your Holiness. Venice."
The Pope pulled a piece of paper from under his documents, and began writing.
“Very well, tell my general to coordinate the armies of the Empire to deal with these rebellions. We need them not, for our next mission.” He said as he wrote.
"Yes, Holy Father."
"And deliver this to Rafaello. He should be on his way to Venice. Warn him of the Rebellions."
"As You wish"
