Well... for myself, I can pronounce Osterreich... if I think hard about it... as for Magyarország, nah: no dice there! I have no idea how that should be pronounced at all! So, I'm pretty satisfied with Hungary, Austria and Ottomans... Unfortunately this thread is for people that are NOT willing to settle with that.

Russia was actually the imperialistic expansion (oh boy, I'm in trouble now!) of Moscovy, while Turkey was the republic Ataturk managed to carve out of the corpse of the OE. The approach (and therefore the result, historically) is wildly different.
Semantics, semantics, but as they say devil resides in details. Reluctantly, i have to admit you do have a valid point.
But ill troll you away in another direction (to save my face a bit, after all i am a Russian fanboy and all).
Look at it from another perspective, lets take historical context out for a second.
Russia is the natural unification of Russian people (national state) just as France is a natural unification of the French people.
Ottoman Empire, or Osmanlis or whatever you wanna call them is not a natural unification of Turkish people, its just one of the beyliks that got lucky and ate the others. If anything it was one of the truest empires in the sense that it was a country of multiple cultures - some persecutions (which happened at times) aside, many of the highest offices in Ottoman state were available to non Turks, and to my understanding at least, that country didnt have distinctively Turkish accent to it (wasnt a true national state), that only happened with Turkey, which is IMO to Turks what Russia is to Russians or France to French(ies sorry i have to <3 vive la France!).

Why not just call it by the name many knew it by? The Sublime Porte Wouldn't that work better? If the sons of Osman die out or if it changes cultures it's name will not need to be changed if it's called that.
How about the name is 'Here Be Turks'. Now that would look really cool on the map!

It is generally agreed that the first Turkic people lived in the Mongolian region. So people kind of assume that they were looking like an Asian/Mongolian back then.
I'd like to suggest naming it 'Hibernia'.
