Dago,
If you mean the colony in the Middle East, yeah. That was so Ryo could give five provinces to all countries. There's also one in Persia sent by the Fins that will be deleted.
As far as my warships, they were Omani-Hedjaz that weren't disbanded. It didn't occur to me that it mattered, as I forgot Granada had the Nile port. They'll be disbanded next session. I also got two +10 events but I believe those fleets were both sunk. Shame too, as they were the only good events I had all session.
And how you lost those naval battles, I'll never know.
DSY,
Shig divided his fleets and I had a good admiral.

In home waters, it was pretty ugly. Went better for him in the open sea and around Crete, but ultimately that first defeat was very difficult to recover from.
Look at the stats, it's incredible the disparity between Northern European navies and Mediterranean navies. 600-900 versus 200-400, when one would expect the Mediterranean to be clogged with ships. I suppose when Drake, Shig and I have shipyards, we'll close that gap rather quickly in a naval arms race to end all naval arms races.

But it's still quite a surprise.
All,
It's come to my attention that I made a key mistake in the genator. If you note how many provinces Byzantium has versus its manpower compared to countries with fewer, you'll see I'm getting far less bang for the buck. This is because ROTW provinces were set to much lower manpower than European. Tax base too, if I'm not mistaken, which I'll have to check in the script. This was for a game with colonies, not one set only in Europe. It didn't occur to me to change it for the Middle East and North Africa since it wouldn't make any difference as far as colonization.
This only affects Carthage and Byzantium, but obviously affects them quite substantially. I'll post exactly numbers later on.
Now, I'm not sure we necessarily need to do anything about this, but I wanted to get all your thoughts.
