I think beer would be more in line with the game time frame.

Wine in Latin/greek countries, beer in germanic ones (including England), whisky in Ireland and Scotland, mead in Scandinavia, vodka in slavic regions, tea in muslim countries and Asia, but sake in Japan, smoke some weed while playing as the Netherlands and eat magic mushrooms if you're playing native americans, adding some chocolate in South America

Czechs are Slavs and they drink a lot of beer, vodka is only for more north-east countries. Even south-east countries drink some other beverages, like rakia (similarly strong as vodka though).

Just to have you know im not gonna torture myself by staying up in sweat filled anticpation day prior to release of this game...
I have sleeping pills that I will take to knock me out and when i wake up ill be able to play EU4 fresh for a day long marathon of gaming.
