I'm liking that rebels can have some positive effect (e.g. noble rebels lead to cheaper cavalry, better missionaries, and lower stability costs in exchange for more expensive tech, less trade power, and less land morale)
I think that the game has these two types of currency the wrong way around, especially when it comes to technology. The nation's economy feels like a secondary factor that you don't really need to care about as much as you did in EU3. Currently your MP accumulation depends on a random number generator and your ability to buy advisers. I think that it would be better if your MP accumulation fed into your economy, rather than your economy feeding into your MP accumulation. E.g. you use MP to buy ideas that give you better trade tech, or you use MP to generate policies/advisers that improve your economic health.
- I hate Austria when I play Venice![]()
Something I really have to praise is the new sound effects. All very subtle but symbolically meaningful and understandable to most people. I'm really glad I don't have to disable any of the files like the revolt, resign or stability hit ones in EUIII.
Played as Venice and it was so excited. It was like walking by the cliff. Has to carefully plan your move before making any action.
Instantly maxing my fleet and army after the game starts, I managed to make the Ottoman thinks twice before DoW on me. Then I manage the grab lands from Ragusa and Ancona after making alliance with Poland and Naples. Ultimately I expanded quite a bit without Ottoman attacks.
-I miss a 'detach transports' button when selecting fleets;
Final Verdict:
Crap. I got lots of modding to do.
I chose to align myself with the Germans (Austria and Bavaria) and started a coalition against the Ottomans (which I'm not sure if it did anything because I was too tired. As I have no idea how to invite others to coalition).I got stomped by the Ottomans, and then the Austrians. How did you prevent that?
