AI can be terrifying sometimes. 11800 score, at least 150k fleet power and Star-eaters in 2267? Fanatic purifiers and max difficulty do mix up nicely.

This is exactly correct definition of recent changes.
Having some exploits, that can be performed only with mods or in multiplayer (because vanilla AI isn't so eager to fully ascend before 2300+), was better than having constant mess in species screen in addition to slightly nerfed (but not fixed at all) exploits.
