PS. On unrelated note, Sanctuary is HELL for xenophiles. Non-xenophiles have it easy: invade and you get free full ringworld, just like that, you don't even need to spend minerals to fix it. As xenophile, you need to enlighten 4 civs, and each one of enlightened dumbasses takes all system to themselves (really pdx?), then you have to wait 10 years to start integrating, and THEN you have to repeat it THREE MORE TIMES. Oh, and also one of those civs is a fucking STONE AGE so it takes what, 40 years only for that ones? Arrrrgh!

Uhh... can anyone explain WTF is happening? For the record, I can apply Ascended template to ultra-hunams. I'm just not sure why I can do that...
Also, default rights are set to assimilation. I guess that doesn't apply to subspecies of original founder species? Or something?

Yeh, it's annoying but I had the same problem with psionic.

Of course, as you can see, the new template system allows you to apply any subspecies template to any other subspecies... So you could turn your last 2 humans synth probably. Or, funnily, turn your synths back human apparently? :p

I was able to turn my psionics back to non-psionic as well, if I'd wanted to.

My guess is that they went to stand off from the first hostile it engaged, but that put them in range of another. They then moved on that hostile, putting them in range of another, so they moved again, and engaged another... and so on until they chained to something across the system, ending up in the middle of everything they hadn't killed yet.

Yes, it seems like that's exactly what was happening, I just question the logic of it - why it works as "50 units from farthest target" instead of "50 units from nearest".

I think it's more "stand off from current primary target" combined with the game tending to make the most recently-engaged target the primary. It's been a consistent frustration that as more enemies join the battle, ships will prioritize the newcomers over the current targets.

I just changed my policy to unrestricted native interference, invaded them, then changed it back 10 years later. Eventually the faction got over the fact that I once invaded primitives.

It helped that despite my governing ethics being 'egalitarian militarist xenophile' my biggest factions were materialist and xenophobe.

PS. On unrelated note, Sanctuary is HELL for xenophiles. Non-xenophiles have it easy: invade and you get free full ringworld, just like that, you don't even need to spend minerals to fix it. As xenophile, you need to enlighten 4 civs, and each one of enlightened dumbasses takes all system to themselves (really pdx?), then you have to wait 10 years to start integrating, and THEN you have to repeat it THREE MORE TIMES. Oh, and also one of those civs is a fucking STONE AGE so it takes what, 40 years only for that ones? Arrrrgh!
Indeed. Sanctuary has not converted well to the new one system - one Empire rule.
I just changed my policy to unrestricted native interference, invaded them, then changed it back 10 years later. Eventually the faction got over the fact that I once invaded primitives.
I thought Xenophiles can't change their Native policy to Unrestricted Studies...

Huh, yeah, that's what it says, but I was able to. I wonder if a mod screwed it up? I'm not running anything that's supposed to mess with ethics, just a couple AI mods and one that makes ether dragons spawn everywhere...
