I still don't know what the target systems are after 80 years because they somehow spawned on the other side of the galaxy. I guess it's about as far as the way from the Shire to Mount Doom.......Hope for hilarity that they've fled to a (ruined) ring star

Well this is new. An opm fallen empire. And no, they didn't get beaten in a war and lose a bunch of planets, they started off as an opm. I wonder if that is intentional, or a bug?
So I had this opm empire that started as a primitive nation then ascended into a space faring nation, and which I then convinced to become my protectorate. After having them as a subject for about a century, I decided the time had come to integrate them (mainly because I needed pops that could thrive on cold worlds). About half a year before the integration was finished, I decided to actually look at their one planet to see what it had. This is what I saw...
Annexing them was a mercy.
And finally, the name most feared throughout the galaxy.

So, this planet is not quite in the same dimension as the rest of the universe. Fitting that it is in a black hole system.
That happened pre-2.0 as well with Fallen Empires that spawned at the edge of the galaxy and have only one predefined system (like the Xenophobes IIRC).

Accepting it I gain 2 robot pops on the planet, while all organic pops on said planet gets a 5% happiness malus (which is inconsequential, since the pops on said planet are nerve stapled), or I can scrap them for minerals.
The thing is, I don't even have the most basic tech for robots. So how were these two units developed? ...The Contingency?

So, for the lulz I decided to try out the one system strategy and see how far I could go. Here is my starting location.
I'm debating whether to deviate and fortify those five systems leading up to me, though that would defy the point of the challenge.

I ended up not having a real choice, so I'm going for the one planet challenge instead. My neighbor cut me off right from the start and are Honor Bound Warriors, so they also immediately rivaled me. I relocated my shipyard to the system right behind the bastion, ready to reinforce on a moments notice. I'll post an update after the first war.
Got proposal of research agreement. Didn't get proposals where I'm paying the bonus in awhile and become curious. Not sure, How that happen.
