Not really weird per say.. I just thought I would share what happens when you are a Aggressive with your study of primitive people. They become Fanatic Xenophobes and Fantic Spiritualists. Mind you they are lizards as well from what i could tell ( Will post screenshot of that tomorrow ) . Should I feel bad for what these people have become ?

I'm pretty sure they're not defining sentient that vaguely, but more in the narrow 'is human like in intelligence' otherwise anything above grass on the scale of having a nervous system can technically be defined as sentient.

That's called Sapient, isn't it?

After just finding no luck with humans (please finally get rid of Sol spawning, Paradox), I created a race of fanatically Colelctivist not-really-birds-birds, because how bad could my start be?

Fanatically Xenophobe FE to my left, Fanatically Individualist Advanced Start AI to my right. I didn't wanna survive the first 30 years anyway.

Might be a relatively local meaning that doesn't extend to where ever, but often the two words are used interchangeably here sometimes by laypeople to mean 'human like intelligence' in a Sci-Fi setting. *shrug*

Sentient means self-aware. All great apes are provably self-aware, in many capacities just as well as humans. Sentient AI is an AI that would feel and have personal opinions. Sapience revolves around wisdom, or making informed long-term decisions, something many birds and monkeys also does. Computers are also already arguably sapient, especially ones with predictive guesswork. It is just a question of how much you are of either. It is just a question of getting enough of either to be human-like in intelligence.
