Don't think this is working as designed, but not sure post 1.8.

The Bakturians, xenophilic spiritulaists who have been our(materialistic militarists) rivals since first contact had just become a dominion of a awakened spiritualist empire after our last war where we took about half of their territory. I get a notification of a civil war where apparently they spawned the Borg despite their church's proscriptions on such things.

Anyway I decide to take the opportunity to try to grab as many of their planets as I could since those cowards ran to the Awakened empire to hide behind their skirts were out of reach, and especially since everyone else in the area declared war instantly on them too. Still don't have anywhere near the strength to take on the awakened empire but got a few more planets for my vassal out of it at least.

With the 1.8 changes, spiritualists aren't anti-robot anymore, but anti-AI-rights. As such, they might've had synths under servitude and the synths finally rebelled.

Or like in another thread, a guy spawned AI rebellion purely due to using Sentient AI ship computers while never having built a single robot.

I thought I had read that they were anti-AI all together but could do non sentient robots? Would make sense though. Also just realized that I said they were militarists when I had meant they were spiritualists, hence my confusion.

Ah yes, my mistake. 'ai rights' policy has been changed to 'ai sentience'. Spiritualists can have synths, but they must have them in servitude. So yes, it's likely they had synth slaves who created a network and became a machine empire.

They don't like the idea of an existence they created being harder, better, faster, stronger (huehuehue) than themselves, so they force them into slavery.

My curator scientist vanished on my science nexus and returned with an upgrade a short time later.
In the time between these events I got myself another curator scientist. :D
At least the 2nd one has another name although Sobak, Sobak and Sobak find the concept of unique names offensive.

btw:Inward Perfection is nice and fine but there is nothing wrong with xeno scientist (and slaves) . ;)

So... I got Rise of the Machines merely by starting the game without any primitives, and the only other empire was a machine empire... GG EZ?

While on the subject of machine empires, I find it amusing you can get Planned Obsolescence (as a materialist empire with at least 200 pops, have at least 75% of them be robotic) as a machine empire...

Just another grimacing planet, sure why not, right?

Okay, I don't know how it is possible to turn a barren world into a machine world, with only 200 credits, but I'm not complaining. I guess my scientist needs a promotion.

Also:

Don't worry, they fit perfectly in our society, I know just the place for them.

He said that they didn't forced anyone to continue their quest, but yet they send them to a empire that had no prior organics. And even say that they are not tyrants.

New Chicago: the most literally overpowered planet I've ever seen. :D Yes, those are three Betharian power plants surrounding the Planetary Capital. No, I'm not running any mods, just the 1.8.1 beta patch.

For a Federation fleet, they sure don't like to form a single group. Somehow they had gotten stuck in limbo, and every new ship attempting to join the main fleet would just pile up in queue. I wanted to keep it building, but as you can see by the scroll bar navigating the control panel got to be nigh impossible...

Who needs a sun when our terraforming technology is so great we can still create continental/gaia worlds without one! I stole this Dyson sphere system from an AI and the world was already ready to colonize...
