So, the story there is I was trying to go for the biological ascension achievement. At the time the materialist FE woke up (brown empire in screenshot), my fleet was the largest in the galaxy (90k power) and I was about to declare war on them. They managed to wake up while I was waiting for the warp cooldown to go away. My fleet was pretty small for that stage in the game, because I wanted to see how far I could go using missiles and strike craft. I won't be doing that again.

"No biggie" I thought, and was going to wait for them to attack one of the neighboring small fry then snipe their ringworlds while their fleet was gone. A year later the spiritualist FE woke up and I thought "oh %&$^". When the event to become League leader came up, I accepted for the lulz and to see how the other AI would react. Imagine my surprise when the next 3 strongest nations at the time asked to join the League, including two of my rivals and an empire I had recently taken a bite out of (literally and figuratively).

Maybe they were thinking that if they joined me in the war, they would delay when I get around to eating them?

Well, don't forget to invite them to celebration dinner afterwards.

He's quoting The Twilight Zone. It goes that a man finds himself in a broken world, with food to last him a lifetime but no one to share it with. Finding a library, he realizes he can spend his life reading without interruption, only to trip and have his glasses break, essentially becoming blind.

I'm not 100% sure how that ties in with the picture. Perhaps... he was about to finally defeat someone, and whoever he fought submitted to his wargoals, so his plans got delayed 10 years?

As of v1.6 I believe, the Corporate Dominion civic which allows for the Megacorporation government and Ruthless Capitalist AI personality only requires the civilization to not be xenophobes. Since the Yeon are Fanatic Spiritualist/Militarist, it's totally okay for them to pray to money.

AI bombed this planet for years, and after peace treaty Fallen Empire lost all thier worlds except this planet and so this ruined planet became thier capital. At least survivors can read books in the midst of this devastation. And I thought of a quote that symbolizes the ruins and ashes of a once great civilization
