Someone posted this in an MP Discord server. It's one of the funnier screenshots I've seen from this game.

So... This just happened... I haven't played a game of HOI4 in a while but figured I wanted to play as USA.

I aimed at having my army ready and strong by 1944, and until then I would conduct some minor campaigns (secure Africa, Defend Greece, Invade a few islands... but nothing major)

Well, at the beginning of -42 Britain did a sucessful invasion of Belgium so I sent my 20 divisions in Europe there and as SU broke the MR-pact it turned into a race to Berlin.

I couldn't really afford a lot of divisions as my production had only just started to ramp up (joined the war in late -38)

Do you see why I hadn't enough equipment??? I'm still on civilian economy after over 4 years of war!!! USA is fighting this war more as a hobby and is still winning!

I dont play the game for a few months and all of a sudden I forget one of the most important things!

So this game began normal enough... Germany did a weird peace deal with Miedzymorze. Kinda odd, but everyone has seen that, at least once.

Communist Manchuria (Dunno how that happened. One second it was Qing China, the next, it was joining the Soviet faction) stole my pet warlords, but not before I stole their armies. Brother vs Brother fighting began soon enough.

Is this actually Communist Guangxi's name? What does it even mean? By this point, the world was firmly embroiled in a three way war...

And yet, Germany doesn't want me as their ally. Why?

Well of course, it's because I'm at war with their allies, Tannu Tuva, Manchuria, Zhu Jiang, and Shanxi, of course... Wait.

The Zhu Jiang is a river whose watershed approximately covers Guangxi's cores. So it's a geographic name essentially.

Huh, thanks for that. Doesn't stop it from sounding like someone's name, though, which is what I thought when I first saw it.

Hmm... the infantry is in reserve while being 3 provinces away from the battle? That is quite some range.

(I moved them away from the battle to get some ORG back, but no matter how far away I moved them they were still considered to be in the battle so could not gain any ORG)

This is already reported as a bug

Playing Japan and watching Germany get into trouble. I am genuinely impressed with Switzerland though, if she is relieved without capitulating this will be an epic chapter in the history books:

The allies have sided with Germany. The Greater East Asian co prosperity sphere also join the war on my side and it includes Japan, Mengkukuo, Siam, and the People's Republic of China

So Paradox does not have a high opinion of General Ando Rikichi: :p

I mean this guy did essentially set the wheels in motion which led to the Pacific war but this was worth a chuckle.

No screenshot sadly but I was playing a 4 way WW2. Japan was at war with the Comintern (and itself), The New Roman Empire/Pact of Rome (both factions formed) was at war with the Axis, Comintern (allies) and Allies and the Axis was at war with the Italian factions and Allies.

Eventually the Comintern won in China and the Democrats won in Japan but WW2 still rages as a 3 way free for all. I'm playing as Yugoslavia. Joined the allies but only joined their war with the Italian factions while staying neutral with the Axis and Comintern. A total free for all.

Japan -vs- The Raj: Tibexploit! :D

That was unexpected as it was unwelcome (I had planned to attack USA around 1942). But it did not help India at all, exactly 2 months from Southern Strike to capitulation:
