First time I've encountered a breakaway CN. And I get the United States! Fantastic!
20190828000048_1.jpg

Wait, what's this? I'm expected to be French now?
20190828000110_1.jpg

AND I get stuck with a French noble for a king? What was all that bloody revolution for anyway?
20190828004921_1.jpg

France actually went revolutionary for several decades in this game; they had a large Bohemia in a PU as well. But they fell on hard times, losing a war against the emperor Switzerland (??) before Floride and Bohemia simultaneously declared independence.

Even before they release the next patch which is sure to cause Ming to explode more often (I hope), I am playing Bengal and I noticed that I could rival Ming while I was so weak, then I noticed Ming is almost fully occupied, and now that I am on the load screen I can see that Ming did not fair well at all in the first 40 years of my game. Can't wait to see if Haixi will actually form Qing!

Nani the heck?

(Good idea how this happened, the event where you can get a free core on a territory of your religion you occupy, probably happened during the league war. Still amusing. Can confirm Main Mainz is where it should be)

Okay, first a couple from my recent Ethiopia/Prester John run:

20190811045209_1.jpg

Must say I've never seen that before.

20190814093705_1.jpg

At this point, I finally caved and colonized the inland provinces in Eastern Africa.

20190820132754_1.jpg
20190820132819_1.jpg

Chain bankruptcies and a bunch of dog piling. Side note - I actually had absolutely nothing to do with it. For once.

Worst of all the Ottoderps fought a grand total of four battles for exactly 0 warscore and peaced out in several years, giving Ming the province and some cash. I was hoping for a grudge match between my two worst enemies, but nope.

@mysticdueler I think in three consecutive games now I've seen France go Reformed.

Often a muslim colonizer (most often the Mamluks, then the Ottomans, but I have also seen Hormuz) colonizes Taiwan, and as the Ming consider it as a part of China, they launched a conquest war against the invader.

As Russia you should have attempted to give military access to one country involved in the war if possible (not easy if you rivalled both the Ming and the Ottos). Then you could have watched hundred of thousand of Chinese and Otto troops fight in Siberia :)

The Ottoblob had chartered (I think that's the mechanic's name) a province in Vietnam, which was the wargoal. I mean, fair enough, but 1600 seems way too early to me. Though I've not played much in recent months.

As Russia you should have attempted to give military access to one country involved in the war if possible (not easy if you rivalled both the Ming and the Ottos). Then you could have watched hundred of thousand of Chinese and Otto troops fight in Siberia :)

That's the weird bit - Ming had access through me! And they still didn't fight properly! Was waiting in the background to grind Otto into a bloody pulp while they were busy in East Asia. After the peace I got annoyed and just DoWed them and got an 80-90% WS deal after a year or two and many, many dead Bohemnian and Bahmani tropps.

The AI really does not like fighting battles in this patch unless they are incredibly one sided. They often will follow around rebel stacks in their own country dutifully unsieging province after province in a never ending cycle as their country gets more and more devastated. I would assume the devs are aware of this, but who's to say? The project lead has played 2 campaigns in the last year.

I’ve seems France go Protestant several times, sure. But Reformed? Huh.

France can get events that spawn Reformed Zealots if they have provinces of the religion whilst the FWOR disaster is ongoing.

Further proof that the decision to take away boats for natives is five kinds of wrong. (Happened during a "Where am I?" achievement run. Side note - thanks to custom nation cheese I was able to migrate every three months. I was the leader in tech for many years despite being stuck as a native. Even got me the Bright Spark achievement too. Great times!)

And now, some oddities from my latest run as Poland/Commonwealth:

20190828123703_1.jpg

20190828123715_1.jpg

Though, I'd gladly give up traits if it meant I always rolled 555 or better every time! (And yes, quitting and restarting didn't give him any traits. He ruled for another 15-20 years like that).

20190828140127_1.jpg

20190830040313_1.jpg
20190830040310_1.jpg

Again, quitting and restarting did nothing to change this attitude toward me. I think he finally got a new leader that reset him? (I eventually diplo-vassalized him and used reconquest on Sweden for his cores).

You know, for a Diplomat you are really aggressive!

Everybody knows that confucian and mayan are the exact same religion. After all, you can find pyramids in both countries. Then, does that mean that egyptian pantheism is another face of that very same religion ?

That'll be because Ming has harmonized with a Pagan Religion, of which Mayan is one, so it sees all Pagan Religions as its own.
That was my guess too. But it still feels a bit weird nonetheless. At best, they harmonized with the animalist pagan faith, which is not exactly the same as mayan faith.

EDIT : it seems I'm being misunderstood. I know how the harmonization process works and why this is that way. I'm just saying it's strange, not that it's not the way it's intended to work. After all, this is the "strange screenshot" thread, not the "unexplained screenshot" ;)
