That's not really too strange. Austria doesn't really focus too heavily on maintaining good relations with the electors, so it's not too uncommon for them to lose the title to whichever smaller central European country manages to be the best friends with the most prince-Archbishoprics.
Though, the fact that it's Hesse instead of Nassau is a bit extraordinary, I suppose.

Golly gee willikers! It appears that one of the few men that survived this travesty was an African slave! You know who else is African? LITERALLY EVERYBODY ON THIS EXPEDITION I MEAN HOT DAMN I'M FROM MALI THAT'S LITERALLY WHERE ALL THE SLAVES COME FROM
In general though, these colonization events rarely make sense unless you're a western European.

Yes I'm in Europe, and might have been doing some stuff 200 years ago, but still, what is that weird green thingy in northern Germany?
Bonus, Aragon is under Austria as PU and they have about 5% LD... Austria is also my game long ally, so apart from occasional war between Ottomans this is all about colonies.

In my 1.17 game as Tver, I witnessed a war between the Ottomans and Moldavia (with no other participants). The Ottomans were the aggressor.
Ottomans: 67k (largest army in the world, ranked 1st in military), Moldavia: 12k. Equal military tech level (10), neither in bankruptcy and neither seem to have any condottieri. Place your bets.
Ummmm, alright...

Case of frozen black flagged Ottoman army waiting for transportation from Egypt or so?

Yeah, I really don't know the details because I had limited sight over things. The Ottomans had one province in Egypt (Rosetta, I think) that lacked a land bridge back to their capital, but they should have been able to ferry them back by ship.
That Moldavia, bug or not is impressive. If it gets Maros from Hungary and eats Wallachia it could into AI Romania, which would be a very strange occurrence indeed.

No, I was just using the South shall rise again! as a template. Though, perhaps some Romanian nationalists will tell you otherwise.

Yes. It is a caricature of rural Americans from the southern states. Basically, in the caricature, they are usually poor and uneducated, and resent the Union (North). They call the Civil War (of America) the War of Northern Aggression, and want the Confederacy (South) to become independent once more.

Started Genoa game, allied France, get called into war for French cores against England. France also calls in Castile, who gets to Labourd first and takes it for themselves. Well, France wants that piece of land, and isn't going to stop fighting until it (somehow) gets it. Result for me: a crippling, ever-increasing Call for Peace:
I finally tap out after 12 years, thinking the AI would probably make peace right after I do so. Nope! Twenty years after the start of the war (sometime in June 1469):
France REALLY wants Labourd. Almost 60 years after the war started:
STILL NO PEACE. When the 90th anniversary of the war comes around, I decide to take matters into my own hands. I break my alliance with France, ally both Austria and the Pope, and declare war once the truce is over. THEY STILL WON'T MAKE PEACE:
I plow my way through Castile to Labourd and end their occupation. Almost immediately afterwards:
And then, just a few days later, FINALLY:
After almost 99 years of war, France takes back one core. The war may have lasted the rest of the campaign if I hadn't stepped in.
I finally tap out after 12 years, thinking the AI would probably make peace right after I do so. Nope! Twenty years after the start of the war (sometime in June 1469):
France REALLY wants Labourd. Almost 60 years after the war started:
