Is Navarra a vassal of Castille? I've seen Castille feed Navarra at times, and then annex later.
Not that peculiar, really. Aragon DoW'd Navarra with Subjugation CB and got utterly buttwrecked by Castile who then transferred occupation to Navarra.

So I was playing as Japan and I just happened to look over to europe and saw this. What the heck is even happening with the HRE?
Catholic is the official faith, but most of the princes aren't Catholic. It happens sometimes because the league wars happen while the CoRs still exist, so the Catholics win an overwhelming victory and are promptly all converted by CoRs afterwards.
It got even better. Sweden is the leader of the HRE as a catholic, but no one in the HRE is catholic, so there are no electors anymore. So basically Sweden has hereditary rule over the HRE, despite not being in the HRE and being a different religion from everyone else in the HRE. It's a glorious mess.

Honestly, the entire history of Holy Roman Empire - as Voltaire said, an entity which was neither Roman, nor empire and definitely not holy - was so retarded i would be only mildly surprised if I have read about something like that in real life.
This doesn't change the fact this situation is absolutely awesome in game
Had a similar situation when I was playing as Tunis, looking into Europe when there were no more Catholic's, so basically Austria got to continue being emperor by being elected by the sole elector Genoa, the two states in the entire game that at least had state catholicism (but no catholic provinces)
Dunno if it's strange enough, but it amused me

Well, this Japan game is turning out to be pretty interesting.
Those are some impressive asian empires. Especially Chagatai and Delhi.
I don't know whether to be impressed by that Spanish empire or laugh at the fact that they're being occupied by Brunei.
Don't know if this really qualifies as strange, but these are some of the nicest ex-colony borders I've seen. Except maybe that bit of USA in labrador. No idea what that's doing there.

They have no other options to use their colonist, and enough money, so they colonise there.
Out of all possible candidates, the most succesfull AI China conqueror I have seen so far turns to be Chagatai, super low tier underdog, gg
