So far using the truce with Aragon for a relatively painless vassalization of Portugal. But yeah, going to be a lovely exploration -> expansion -> diplomacy game with that slot being hogged up like that...

Reloading halfway through a battle does that. I'm guessing the initial army sizes aren't saved when you manually save, so instead it fills in some random numbers.

You realize California is a gigantic drain on the US economy and has insane state debt high unemployment a devastated real estate market and a reputation as being toxic for business...
California is pretty heavy financial problems. The only thing they really have going for them is Hollywood and Silicon Valley. Oh and maybe the climate, which is super nice.
California has a budget surplus, is a HUGE net contributor to the US economy, and the 4th largest economy in the world if it were its own country.

How do you form Italy with Aragon? I thought only Italian states could do that
The only requirements are Italian culture group, not HRE or The Papal State, not a colonial nation, admin tech 10 and the required provinces.

So, he took most of Italy, the majority of the population had cultures of the Italian group so the Nation's main culture was Italian?
He took most of Italy, probably enough of the provinces with the Lombard culture so that those provinces outnumbered provinces of any other culture, moved his capital to a province with the Lombard culture, made the culture shift decision, then formed Italy.

Way to dogpile on someone AI. :| You guys all jump in to finish Crimea off but let Russia form? I hate how they failed to finish off Muscovy when it was almost destroyed by Novgorod, Kazan, Perm, Tver, and Lithuania + Poland. Instead they turned on each other and after a few wars, Muscovy came back by allying with all the countries around it who stopped hating it, destroyed Novgorod, vassalized and annexed Perm and Tver, and then biting into Lithuania. And rebels ended the PU between Poland and Lithuania by turning Poland into a Noble Republic so even though both of them blobbed, they only ended up rivaling each others and taking each other out :|
You see this Russian stack? It was more than 3 times as big as it is now. AI kept moving the stack between Beijing and Hebei with forced march and taking the damage from seiging since I got to those provinces first in a separate war with Ming.
Laughed while watching the army shrink while the AI kept combining to make full strength regiments.
Apparently AI can't figure out how to land troops on the Najd controlled Bahrain so the war ended up lasting more than 25 years. And Qara Qoyunlu refused to negotiate the whole time because their ally Hedjaz occupied Qatar instead of them.
Ottoman tried to dogpile but couldn't find Bahrain either apparently.
They lose and get forced to release nations lol.
Then stacks of Qara Qoyunlu supported Shiite rebels start spawning and force Hedjaz off Qatar into a white peace. They didn't seem to want to enfore their demands either and actually wipe a Qara Qoyunlu stack that came to take Qatar for some reason. War finally ends in 1563.

Bali has a core there, and could have been released in a war. In addition, it has no strait connection with Majapahit, so a large rebel stack could prove impossible for AI Majapahit to beat as they get the naval landing malus always.
Because they have Hollywood and Silicon Valley (AKA Apple, HP, tons of high tech companies), and tourism since California is very nice and beautiful. But the problem is that their taxes are ridiculous, and a lot of companies as well as people are moving out to states like Texas where taxes are low, life is cheaper in general, and pretty much everything is cheaper. I've been to California, and it's like paradise, until you find out how expensive it is to live there and how greedy those politicians want your money.
