AI stupidity knows no bounds. One of the best things the devs could do would be to smarten the AI up so they make more logical choices...

I don't know how rare or strange it is, but in my play, the Jarl Haesteinn became King of Eastern Francia, and is actively converting all provinces to the true faith : Asatru

I've seen it happen too. I think it's because they did an "invade kingdom" CB on Germany, which is a very large kingdom. East Francia often gets in trouble and ends up with a child king with 800 troops, and then some jarl of Holland or Frisia pounces with the 5000 event troops they still have.

When going for Crusades, I usually pick someone that is "Zealous" as the new Ruler.
Zealous people do not convert their religion.
Which means more issues with their vassals of a different Religion.
Meaning more like to force them to convert or replace them with someone of the right religion.
I avoid doing most conversion manually, usually looking to get the higher ups of my religion - letting it trickle down from there.
He is Lustfull, Ambitious and Greedy - 2 and possibly all 3 things that the Christian Religion considers Sins.
That would be a good reason not to convert to christianity - and indeed get rid of any christian vassals.

If I manage to beat my three year old son in a snowball fight, I will receive 75 prestige - more than I will get from five years of being a Count. Perhaps this prestige is more well-deserved than it sounds, as my 1-martial count is a heavy underdog against his 2-martial son in the fight, so it would be quite the upset were he to win. And when if I lose, my child will lose all respect for me (this is the one part that seems extremely reasonable).
