I have to admit I'm lost on this... One guy won a war, the other guy lost. Happens countless times in every game. How does it fit with the chad vs virgin meme?

The looks. It would be better with giant trait, but bloodline perks unfortunately makes that impossible.
Also, though out of this picture:
Caliph Muhammad took the throne in the age of 10 and because he did not have traits yet like 10 kingdoms rebelled in 2 separate rebellions and they won those rebellions. 30 years later he got it all back and now he's holding almost entire Europe. I know it don't count since i'm playing, but anyone doing this would be chaddest chad in history of mankind.
And this particular basileus suck donkey ass, he lost every war, even my vassals are kicking his butt whenever they want.
Finally, look how long that war took. Absolutely embarrassing.

Have you just took over as Charles after your previos ruler died?

After you die it takes next most powerfull dynasty member and set it as dynasty head. Your heir usually isnt second most powerfull dynasty member - he only becomes powerfull after taking the throne. It takes few months to recalculate dynasty head.

That's (currently) WAD. There is a difference between House Head and Dynasty Head.
House head is only inheritable, and inherited by the primary heir of the previous House Head, while Dynasty Head is given (within 1 year) to the most powerful House Head among all the branches of the dynasty.

If you want to become Dynasty Head, you either need to inherit a House Head title or create your own Cadet Branch (and be the strongest house head militarily).

In your case, the Karling Dynasty probably has only one House, the Karling House, whose headship was inherited by the queen of Bavaria.

My spymaster who found out that a vassal of mine, Doux Theodoros, is a time traveler or some kind of causality breaker as being the bastard son of Doux Theodoros' mother and... Doux Theodoros. This spymaster died of natural causes soon after this discovery, and I'll bet 2 cents his own death is a bit more "natural" than his last big discovery.

Yeah, this bug happens often. The "he" who is the bastard is the child of the Doux and not the Doux himself. If you check the secrets screen, you'll see who the bastard actually is.
