In my current game the pope is the former king bishop of Italy with claims on Italy.
I've never seen the pope win a crusade forgot that was even a possibility though odds are if it was a heretic king there would be a catholic claimant somewhere.
I suppose the pope just wanted somewhere cold to go to during the summer and the faithful provided it for him after some stabbing.

I think I can explain that. Bulgaria got a Welsh dynasty somehow (I was asleep when they did, I have no idea how). Right now, in the EU4 converted game, Wales was converted to Bulgarian culture, while the Welshmen preferred to stay in Bulgaria instead
As for the Bohemians in Russia, it's the land owned by Sweden, and the Swedes had close dynastic links to the Magyars. Remember the Arpad on the Swedish throne? Then, Sweden went Polish and since eventually Poland was conquered by Bohemia, they went Bohemian as well. But they kept the land they got from the Magyars earlier (you know, rebellions, succession wars and such). And it eventually flipped to Bohemian, too.
I love observer games.

Popes chose their own papal regnal names, so clearly he was trying to throw people off the scent of his sexy parties.
Fun fact and worth noting is that Pope Innocent III is possibly the most powerful, if not one of the most powerful of all time. He organized the Fourth Crusade, so to be fair, I can see this guy as being as batsugar crazy as the real guy!

A nomad settled in khiva and waged on off wars with them with no neither one strong enough to crush the other i stopped checking for a while then went to look and the Saffarid were gone and the caliph had pissed himself in fear.
Liberation revolt? Not terribly surprising, all it takes some good timing and for the revolt AI to not be completely retarded (which happens so often even large revolts are basically a joke).
