This is technically only my second game and first Ironman, though I'm also playing a late start India game for fun, so I can't be too sure if it's strange enough or happens all the time. But a number of things I think are strange have happened (1066 start).
The empire of Tartaria had formed a while back, recently they've reformed the Tengri faith.

Those Seljuks are Yazidi, Yazidi has replaced Sunni.
Georgia is actually ruled by an Armenian Yazidi. I think this guy could have created either kingdom.
The A underneath "Rus" is Lithuania. The kingdom formed then took a large chunk of de jure Ruthenia from a Slavic (religion) duke that for some reason managed to expand while surrounded by Rurikids.
Far to the west of this view: the norman conquest was succesful, but after William the of Godwins got back in power, but still Norman dukes must have survived, because there is one English cultured province.
As an aside, the HRE pushed an antipope's claim, so they have a vassal pope now, but I invited the old pope then killed him for the cash...
