Betrothal when they were very young and he wasn’t the elected HRE heir. I always set up betrothals, if you don’t want them when your kids turn 16, you just cancel and laugh at the -30 opinion.

IIRC it's part of an SOA event you can get after the holy relic event.

For those who don't get it, Byznatine Empire is a muslim empire, and an inbred genius. I also got an achievement: Keeping it in the family - Sire a child that has the Inbred trait.

You can, although it does seem weird. I'm currently trying to do that with my Sunni Turk playthrough.

He is incapable of being independent, but he is the pinacle of human intelligence. Sounds like a made up story... oh wait. Anyways, I am not sure, but when he converted (guessing he was captured in battle against the middle east) all hell broke loose in the Byzantine Empire, sadly I was in it. De jure Greece was completely covered in muslim rulers, he ruled like, 40 years so nobody wanted to kill him and you could see widespread rebellions. All of a sudden he just went on a revoke-a-title spree, but more than the usual Byzantine Emperor, he literally revoked everything he could find that wasn't muslim and replaced it with a muslim ruler, because he had medium crown authority.

Sounds like someone needs to restore the Empire to be Rightfully christian again.. I am surprised though the pope did not call for a Crusader to reclaim it once it went Muslim. Even a Convert to Muslim i would think the Pope would call a Crusader and bring it back under Christian Control
