I gave the first-born the same name as the father. I wanted to see how far it could get. Since rulers rarely live past 60 years, it's not very hard to get to X.

For instance, Louis XIV of France.

You just kept naming them the same name, I would think that would get old, I like to have some limited variety in my ruler names but I still go for high numerals when possible .
