Indeed it is, but you know what else is funny about it? That after I married her to one of my courtiers, the pope somehow disliked me for having an anti-pope and yes, she is raking in da cash!

Nah, happened in my game too. Cornwall went and gained aggro on the Petty Kingdoms in the region after fabricating claims towards them. That looks pretty much like the Wales in my game - except England is still Mercia and Jorik, and Scotland is Alba.
Same warlike Wales happened in my current game too. It even managed to get a single county in Jerusalem; I watched it happen and I still don't know if I believe it.

I don't know, but I'll venture it's the "England has way too many provinces" mod.
I seem to remember seeing Paris destroyed, it is indeed possible. In fact, if you remember that any holding can be the County Capital, depending on who owns the title, it would make no sense for these to be immune.Pretty much, unfortunately... So I declared war for Peremyshl instead.
Anyway, this occurance makes me wonder if there are any exceptions to holdings getting destroyed by raiders. What about county capitals and holy site temples? The wiki only says "Has a 5% chance of destroying the holding entirely, if the holding has less than 4 buildings.", which does not appear to exclude these...
Not sure about holy sites, though.
I think this is what happens when counties are duchy-tier, duchies are kingdom-tier, and kingdoms are emperor-tier, and it focuses on England (and to an extent Scotland, Wales, and Ireland; but the second two aren't that distinct and Scotland isn't as involved in this thing).

Well, if marrying your cousin is fine I'd imagine a great granddaughter would be distant enough as well.
