I don't think that the Pope normally gets involved in matters like this, but after all, he did say that "[y]our wisdom and mercy are legendary," which sounds very special and is probably the reason he is willing to assist you like this.

They did though, I had prepared this landing in advance, to much of my vassal's annoyance. Silly thing is, I barley dented their initial force before I won the battle(They had no commanders on the flanks, I had jungle defensive advantage with 150k more soldiers entering Chatigama), but the stack was indeed wiped. The post battle screen as you saw confused me just as much.

Guys, I think I found a soulution to the Karling Problem.
Why don't we just kill all the Karlings.

The funny part is, I was the Spymaster of Karl and everyone knew that I killed him.
So what was the most logical thing, Karloman could do? Rigth, appoint me as his new Spymaster.

I was in a game where the Karlings went extinct themselves. Didn't help. The Agilolfings stepped in to take their place, and eventually held both the Holy Roman Empire and the Byzantine Empire.

Then the emperor and empress married.

What really terrifies me about that screenshot is that the AI actually make Glitterhoof a bishop (assuming, of course that you didn't make Glitterhoof a bishop yourself in your Germanic realm).

While having an exploitative player creating vassal horses is perfectly fine, I really don't want literal horse lords popping up during normal gameplay. Especially since if it happens with barony level bishops, it can also happen with count level ones - thereby spawning horse characters without the Horse trait (i.e marriageable horses) willy nilly.

With Tanistry that's unlikely to affect things. Of course the 15 year old may not stay Tanist if the voting family decide they like someone else better.
