Love that Pomerania!
I actually started in Prussia (not even part of de jure Pomerania) and had a hard time getting the territory required to form any kingdom despite holding serious territory in three different ones. in the end I had to keep pummeling the existing king of Pomerania until he no longer existed so I could grab the title.

Trying my first Iron Century game and I'm...getting some mixed signals from Otto, here.

Maybe he's bipolar?

nah, that happens all the time when you siege down holdings yourself (or other commanders actually)
Strong and Weak leaders are not mutually exclusive for whatever reason, so one time you may have get weak leader, one time you get strong leader. At the end of the day, just destroy everything and get wroth/cruel :-D

I have a couple here. Had quite some time on my hand so I might have played "a lot"...

As an aside, I've never seen Catholicism do that bad before. The guy in the next screenshot may have to do something with that.

My son got Decadent, wouldn't straighten up, but I could take him along on my Hajj. He didn't lose the trait. I played on as him, decadence didn't stop rising until I realized Zealous would remove it (as it did).

If you dive into the game files, you'll see that it's pure random chance what the AI picks for leadership, other than autonomous. The Germanics are most likely to pick Temporal (all religions have a default option that's much more likely than the others), but they still have a roughly 17% chance to pick temporal or hierocratic.

Fixed, sorry!

All good. :)

That is a horrifying event! I checked the game files to see what that was all about, but apparently it does nothing. It's just a scary message. The custom tooltip of the option is labelled "seraphims," though. Are Paradox trying to say that those spectres were seraphim? The dicationary defines seraphim as:

"an angelic being, regarded in traditional Christian angelology as belonging to the highest order of the ninefold celestial hierarchy, associated with light, ardour, and purity."

Turning your poor guards into ash isn't really what I associate with light, ardour, purity, and angels of the highest order. :)
