Wasn't it pretty common before HF as well? I'm pretty sure I saw simultaneous tyranny, council power and/or claimant revolts before in Byzantium, the Abbablob and other major empires after they lost a major war or had a weak ruler in a succession crisis.

So I just realized that they actually both want to install the king of Middle Francia on the throne... I really wonder now why they aren't working together. Poor West Francia is also defending against four different county conquests, by the way, and they lost another one or two already and I conquered a duchy with a de jure claim.

As for why he is Serbian, there is probably an explanation in older events.

Just bought like 4 new DLC in the sale. I don't know which DLC redraw the map. My past games, Byz always roll over everyone else (at best they're kept in check). Maybe this is actually normal with the DLCs lol.

My first run through, a Feudal Tengri Khaganate Byz xD

Sometimes later, it turned into Alania xD

And some years later, turned back into Greek Orthodox, but still Alania... I have no idea what happened here xD

Oh, and maybe this is common for some people, but this is first for me. 8 kids in 13 years (actually 11, but I didn't take SS when the last baby came out since I thought she might pop more xD). Must be exhausting...

So... I was trying for the Holy Sepulchre Achievement. I manage to install a benefactory in Jerusalem. Sadly achievement didn't fired off since I end up as a count.

Anyway pope declared a crusader and all. We fought and won. Only to have this happen literally a few month later.

He has the bloodline found crusader state, Crusader King trait, and coronation by a Pope. Is the Pope having some serious regret?

Also bonus Muslim somehow won a jihad for Anatolian and you can just barely see it above Cilician Sea.

When you pick the ambition to forge a bloodline, one of the options is to reform the legal system. DO NOT PICK THAT OPTION!

Likewise, the game gave no indication that this would happen.
