The Czar of Russia wishes to negotiate with the Papal States, about the return of the two Russian provinces of Olonets and Kexholm.
We will offer a fair payment for the provinces, which must be better than losing them to rebels.

A courier from the Papal States was seen on his way to Moscow. No one knows what this diplomatic move means. Has it to do with the extreme Russian intolerance against the Catholic religion? Or perhaps with the Russian claims on the Papal States provinces North of Ingermanland?

A Russian delegation has been visiting Constantinopel. After two wonderful weeks in the city of mens desires, the Russian delegations heads home with a big smile on their faces. Peace and stability finally seems possible in the eastern parts of Europe. Here is the treaty that is pronounces to the world:
The Treaty of Constantinopel.
1. The Ottoman Empire and the Empire of Russia agrees to sign a 50 years non-aggression pact. If the countries find themselves at war with eachother, withing this time period, white peace must be signed as soon as possible.
2. Both countries agree on the following provinces as their border.

Just for the record, we still have a minor territorial matter to settle with the Papal States. So not everything is quite happy yet. .
Since the Pope is a representative of the Catholic world, this is not good for the relationship between our two branches of Christendom.

The churches unite
For too long the nations that claim themselves to be the valiant defenders of Catholic faith, have neglected to issue protection for the Pope in Rome and his possesions.
Russia hereby proclaim itself protector of the Papal States. Any assault on them will be looked upon as an assault upon Russia. Hopefully this will bring closer ties between the eastern and the western church.

I just wanted to apologize to all those who were affected by my failure to turn in my orders. It hopefully won't happen again.
