I am still fiddling with things but yeah 2.2 is the moastfun I have had in, no not just any version of stellaris, any 4x I have played. Sure the AI is off, and the pops dont always hop when I want them so the filter to optimal is sketchy... and I'm not sure if robots are wirth it yet... And I have so many issues with crime and the systems around it they produced a trade for book stores. But the actuall core loops are so much more dynamic, the way you have to shift and adapt trasnition economy as contexts change, is going to keep me in for a long long time to come.

I read a lot of other (mostly downvoted) posts, and spoke with my friends, and one advice to most complaints:
You try to play the 2.2 economy like pre-2.2, forget everything you knew about economic gameplay, you need to relearn the game because they changed the basis, the economy...

Other complaints about bugs, balance, etc, of course the game have problems. But nothing unfixable.
