No, I'm saying that what either of us believe should or shouldn't be a core feature of the game has no bearing on this discussion.

And there are many better ways they could have done it. Take a look at what has, I think, become the gold standard of battletech video streams:So what this was a basic tutorial video for people who knew nothing of the came.
Never said he was in the most recent Paradox stream. try reading what I wrote again.Did I see a different stream? Mitch wasn't in there in the one I watched.

Mitch is a natural-born Showman, who most definitely has his lane and is a preeminent BattleTech Illuminati...Ah I see. Sorry about that.
My point still stands, and it seems you might even agree that having Mitch on would have been an improvement.

...but no, as the Stream turned to Combat Strategies, I very much would prefer to have Connor at the helm. Connor was a real contender during the HBS “In-house” BATTLETECH Tourney.
Jordan imo ALWAYS has a place at the mic/table/Panel/whatever when it comes to BattleTech/BATTLETECH.
As the focus for cKnoor’s weekly BATTLETECH stream changes, I hope HBS has the opportunity to continue to participate and I would like to see Team HBS draw from its Game Development Bench according to the stream’s focus.
I hope cKnoor has the time to get a quick outline and tentative guest names out to us we’ll prior to this upcoming Stream. It would be fun to discuss it here on the forum before they kick off the stream... it most definitely would build the hype and excitement imo. : )
I imagine it would have been easier to watch if you actually don't know about any of the game mechanics. There is then a reason for you to be watching. There wasn't enough new in the presentation to keep my interest either.Be those things as they may, I was bored to tears, to be frank, with the latest stream. No faux pas, that was great, but pretty tedious to watch. I don't think that's how to get new people to buy in. Well maybe tabletop people.![]()
I'm too easygoing to worry about when the game will come out (and I have bigger real-life stuff to juggle), but I see how not giving an actual release date can fuel wild speculation. That said, I don't think it will hurt sales. As long as it's not negative reviews of the actual game itself, then "all press is good press", imho. And everyone will forget the "release date scandals of 2018". I still see no problem with a last week of April release, as these streams are only super effective for a limited time and becomes diminishing returns as people stop watching the new ones, having found out "enough" to decide if they will buy or not. (Except for us diehard fans who already purchased and dissect everything.)
I still think the only missing piece, and should come early April, is letting Twitch and YouTube personalities get their hands on the game, but don't allow them to include anything at all about the storyline when they do their "first looks" etc. This also lets them prefilm / edit the start of a campaign playthrough and start posting it as soon as the game releases. This is good for initial sales as well. This day and age, a lot of people make or don't make purchases based on real gameplay videos on YouTube/Twitch.
I’m saying IMO to forestall any sarcastic remarks about being an expert. It’s getting so you can’t even have an opinion without some kind of retort...
HBS has no record of making official updates on a weekend. It hasn't happened that I remember in the last 2.5 years that we've been following this project, and remember that we already have 48 official Kickstarter updates. It won't be before Monday (though I'd be happy to be wrong).Anyone want to take bets that they'll give an actual date today? Then it would be one month exactly from today.
