I dont know if anyone posted this yet but I found a bug with Vichy france.

I played as germany and made Vichy my allies, immediately after I got this event that gave france algeria and gave vichy territory to me. Just thought that you guys would like to know.

The bitter peace doesn't work?

What's going on with the bitter peace events? I got bitter peace as Germany but it's now two weeks since the trigger fired and I'm still not at peace with Russia. Finland, Romania and Hungary had "preparations for peace" and USSR had "negotiations" but war is still going on. Manchuria had Vladivostok, Finland had Leningrad and Germany had everything else except some siberian provinces. Now after the events Finland actually was stripped off some provinces it had conquered in karelia. What am I missing here? Getting the peace in effect never lasted like this.

EDIT: Ugh, I take it back. I faited a few more days and dang, it fired. So never mind ;)

It is intended that Vichy France remain neutral until the UK launches Operation Torch. Once this happens and Vichy loses North Africa, Germany will likely dissolve the Vichy regime to protect their flanks. There is a bug, however, in 3.0, which causes it to trigger early if Italy occupies Tunis. I've fixed this and will release a new version tonight.

Be patient, Jusas! The Germans wanna beat up those Ruskies as long as they can. The peace will fire, but it can take perhaps a month. In the meantime, you know it's coming, so start strategically redeploying. :)

Oh, and Belgium and Netherlands turn over their land to Germany after they are wiped off the continent. Now Russia can steam-roll through the Low Countries on their way to Paris ;)

Oh, and this is pretty big too:

Done! If these countries capitols are occupied, Germany or Japan will puppet them after the UK peace treaty.

Yes but it happened when I just formed an alliance, nothing else of those triggers occured. In fact I actually CONTROL england so they aren't getting invaded anytime soon, hehe.

edit: Found another bug. I released finland after they were conquered by Russia when I was well into russian territory. Soon after an event occured to end the winter war, or whatever, and they returned to status quo. Taking me out of the war with them, along with my territory that I conquered back to Russian control.

I'll make it so England must control London for this to fire. :) Or the US will have to be involved.

I think I fixed this in 3.0a. Either way, 3.0b is coming today with a completely overhauled German surrender. It was so buggy... it's almost perfect. :)

Alright, SMEP 3.0b is out. It has all the fixes discussed above, and a completely reworked (again) German surrender event. Here's from the readme:

I completely redid the German surrender event... again. Now it should work in ANY scenario.

Be aware, if the Allies aren't "pulling their weight" (aka if they don't control Rome OR Paris), Stalin will decide to take all of Europe. That's right, no partition. :)

Also, three months after Germany is defeated, they will declare war on Japan. Keep that post-war comin'! Enjoy. :cool:

Hum, another bug found... playing as Germany, Romania never joined my alliance. So I beat the crap out of the Soviets and got bitter peace. Now a few years after that I decided to annex Romania as it served no purpose as my neighbor... well I did annex it and guess what, the Greater Romania trigger fired! So right after annexing it, dang, it became independent again! (and sent a few dozen of my divisions to Berlin, now my TC is nicely overloaded...)

This might also be the case with Hungary and Finland, don't know but I suspect that. It seems the event should be tied to a smaller context.

Just for you, anti-commi, I decided to code events that give Trento (371) to Austria if Germany controls it and they are in an alliance. This could happen if Italy is defeated.

Also, Austria will now receive Tabor (467) in Czechoslovakia if allied with Germany and Czechoslovakia is destroyed.

But to your Serbia idea... no. Simply implausible for the time period. Be happy with Slovenia, Trento, and Tabor ;)

I re-uploaded the zip to include these changes, so if you care enough, redownload it. :p

I've finally fixed "The Revolution Has Come" event. It fires correctly and goes off at random when dissent in the US is in the 60%s or higher. I had to edit the US ministers as the socialist and communist ministers were not set to "start" at the proper time. Most were set to start in 1940 when, for example, they ran on presidential tickets since 1932.

I fixed the flavor text in the event as well, before it was too long and specific to war times, i removed the war references and based it completely on national dissent. I'll upload the files as your newest version of your mod so you can look it over.

Eventually I may make additions to this. Like with different candidates elections if you choose the socialist leader and "kill" events based on members of the party. Death events are included as they were added by Paradox.

usa.txt events file: mad major changes and re-added "The Revolution Has Come" event
/config/event_text.csv - edited the flavor test for even 3718
/db/ministers/ministers_usa.csv - fixed dates for heads of state. They ran for president in 1936 but were set as 1940.

Specifically what I did in the event:
The call numbers for ministers were completely wrong, probably because this hasn't been used since an old version, possibly a beta. I updated them and put the correct ministers for the time in their correct positions. Also I added domestic changes as needed.

If you select the communist party you will get the EXACT government as the Soviet Union. This is because their leadership were stalinists at the time and many had EXTREMELY close ties to Russia.

If you select the socialist government I made it not as extreme. Of course i moved the democratic slider because it took an armed rebellion to change the government, so democracy isn't exactly in place. Also the "closed society" and "free market" changes are not as extreme as communist as well. Their government type comes out as Left-Wing Extremist.

The event works perfectly and fires after a little while of having 65% dissent. You can get this high easily by non stop swapping out ministers until you get that high. There are NO conflicts and basically works the same as if you elected America First with Lindburgh except you will be on the Soviets side.

If Austria is in an alliance with Germany, Germany will always elect to partition Czechoslovakia. Hungary will join the Axis at this point. If all goes well, Czechoslovakia realizes the hopelessness of the situation and gives in...

I would suggest re-downloading. You must join the Axis via Anschluss event, by the way. And even then, you'll only get Bohemia-Moravia if Czechoslovakia is partitioned (and the chances are much higher, but Germany still might create Slovakia).

Also, you will get Trento if Italy surrenders, and you will occupy Venice. :) No claims ;)

If you want to invite me, I can come up with more and find bugs. Good to see that you like it. The text I had in their wasn't anything set in stone so feel free to change it.

Right now i'm working on a version of the event that occurs later in the game. Possibly if the US is at war or maybe set on a later date, say 1940. Their are many different leaders at that time.

Still debating on alternate-history socialist election events as well, so long as the player goes back to democracy.
