The New Patch & Saved Game

So I started a new game of HOI 2 about a month ago using version 1.2. I wasnt aware of any new beta patch cause I was keeping track of HOI3 news the last few weeks.

The game I started was 1936. Im currently in a GREAT GAME where Im about to invade mainland Italy. BUT the bloody ghost fleet thing became TOO MUCH 4 ME. So I checked for HOI 2 news and BOOM ... a new patch - 1.3b - that kills the ghost fleet issue. I installed it right away. Loaded it... AND YES NO GHOST FLEET YESS!!!!

NOOOO!!! I now dont have Leader Icons on my armies fleets, etc.

I know this aint a big issue but I need it. I love seeing Pattons face after he kicks some enemy butt. I recognize all my armies and fleets by the leaders face... not by the number.

How Do I fix this. Im dying to play it. Please any advice would help.

Unfortunately to fix this you are going to need to modify your save game and have the right file paths for your leaders etc.

Plus your Espionage system is probably already messed up too.

I would recommend a new game.

Sorry to dig up such an old thread, but I do have the same problem - that is, leader images vanishing.

If someone could just point me to the correct file to both change and reference (I am reasonably sure that's the savegamenamehere.eug and the leaders.csv respectively), I would be most grateful. I don't mind the work of manually cobbling together all my leader pics, I just need to know where to start working on it.

And I'd really rather not abandon that save, seeing as I'm in 1942 and still have half the world to conquer. It's just annoying that I not only can't change my leader pictures, but that I lose them to scripted death events (those death-dates are things I'd like to retroactively change, too... but alas, it's not to be, unless someone knows how to and is willing to help.)

If, in the save file, the filepath for the leader images is the "picture = "gfx\interface\pics\[insert leader number].bmp" string, I am dumbfounded, 'cause all the leader pics are in the folder and are designated as they should be. Mysterious.


(edit 2: And no, not abandoning this game due to intelligence happenings either, I patched to 1.3b on jan. 26th, '36)

i am also in 1936 and still got this 4313 ghost fleets in la coruna...

In order to get the correct picture file paths I recommend the following:

1. Start a new game. Save this new game. Note the structure of the file paths.

2. Apply these file paths to your original saved game.
