The history of Concordia can only be traced back around 300 years when the passengers aboard the Ship the “Elysium” awoke and explored their stellar vessel for the first time. The 50,000 passengers came to a few conclusions:
1)They were completely alone, the origin of the Ship “Elysium” is completely unknown.
2)The Ship contained records upon records of their Culture, Society and Biology, for example, they knew that their species name was Human and that the language they all knew how to speak was called “Universal Common”
3) The ship was at least 1,900 years old and had been on a voyage through space.
4)The passengers had total control over the ship's movements, actions, and most importantly the destination.
5) The passengers knew their own names, ages, and relationships with other passengers, but knew nothing about their personal history.

~2200 before the present
-The Elysium is constructed and sets off on its voyage around this time.
-The ship is loaded with 50,000 passengers who were all put into a stasis, which halted all aging for the next 1900 years

~300 years before the present
-The passengers awaken on board the Ship Elysium and explore the ship, discovering the facts and details listed above. After exploring the ship they all come together as a 50,000 person group to discuss their findings.
-At this meeting, the first thing they agree to is the creation of a calendar, that corresponds with the supposed date when the Elysium left its origin. That date was set as January 1st, while the current date was determined to be April 15th. Both days became extremely important holidays in Concordian culture. January 1st was called Departure Day, or Concordian New Years. April 15th became Awaking Day. The current year was determined to be 1,900 years after the departure of Elysium. So January 1st 0000 became the first year of Human Civilization. While the current date, April 15th, 1900, became the 1,900th year of Human Civilization.
-A group of people who later became leading scientists, determined that the ship was currently in high orbit above a planet, the planet was unnamed but was perfectly suitable for human habitation. They suggested to the group that the ship should land on the planet and that they should settle the planet.
-The Inhabitants of the Ship agreed to the proposal, and it was also later agreed that all decisions needed to be made with the entire population, thus creating the first Democratic System of Concordia, later historians called it the “First Concordian Democracy”. With its current leadership being the most vocal members of the passengers and those who could work the ship, it was highly decentralized. Clear divisions among the population started to form as jobs were taken in preparation for the landing

1900-1925 Pre 1st Republic
The initial 50,000 passengers agree to land their ship on the northeast plain of the continent of Bellona, the resulting city is Elysium, the modern-day capital. Decisions that affected the city were made in a central Council where it was expected everyone attended. This early direct democracy found opposition quickly in the Marshite Faction, led by Robert Marsh. They believed the Council was much too slow and inefficient to govern the entire city. The Marshites wanted a Council made of up one representative per profession.

The Marshites were expelled in 1904 where they migrated to the east, founding the city of Marsh’s Landing and established the Free Republic of Concordia. Their opposing faction called the Directives had complete control of Elyisum

New opposition to the Council was lead by Alexander Mayard and his personal faction, supported by the Technocrats, Mayard called for a single strong elected leader to govern the city. Mayard seized control of the city in 1910 after a serious of power grabs that were supported by the people. Mayard proclaimed Elysian Directive. Mayard had to contend with the underground remnants of the Directives and newly created Star Children’s Faith. The faith believed the Ship that brought them to Concordia was sacred. Mayard and Marsh both died in 1921 and were replaced with Lucius Wolf and Ngozi Achebe respectively.

Tensions between the Directive and the Free Republic boiled over in 1923 and the two nations went to war, the three-year long war (later called the Elysium- Marsh’s Landing War) resulted in a victory for the Free Republic. Leading to the Marshites and Directives (who reconciled during the war) to depose Wolf and declare a Republic

Hail to the First Republic of Concordia, gaurdian of Democracy and bringer of Liberty

1925-2038 The First Republic of Concordia
The First Republic was a Presidental system, with the President holding a great amount of power as both head of state and head of government. Early elections were dominated by the UDF (United Democratic Front), led by Dr.William Byrant (a Technocrat who supported the Directives) and Ngozi Achebe. Who became the first and second Presidents respectively. Dr.Byrant expanded the borders of the Republic while Achebe liberalized the Concordian economy. However, the Achebe Reforms would lead issues for the first Republic down the line. The companies that profited the greatest from the reforms would be called “Fortune 100”. By 1950 the Republic controlled all of Harmonia and half of Bellona. The first 25 years of the Republic were called the “Glorious 25” where the 1st Republic rapidly expanded in size and in economic wealth.

The first opposition party to the UDF formed when Issac Byrant and his allies left the party, forming the YDP (Young Democratic Party) after Byrant was not elected for another term by UDF. While the UDF would still hold the presidency from 1950-1965, their long grip on power ended during the Panic of 63, when the energy market collapsed as the government-backed RPEN (Republic Energies) muscled out private energy companies. Isaac Byrant and the YDP came into power after the 1965 election, he managed to reverse the economic slump and became the only 1st Republic President to have served 3 terms, and then only as part of two different parties. He also founded the town of Bilvis. His successor passed the first-ever amendment that banned anyone from serving more than 2 total terms but was also assassinated when a new Religion came into being. The Nessuna Meccania believed that technology was the root of all evil. They fled to the southeast to escape persecution after being accused by the Fortune 100 for being at fault in the assassination.

The second major opposition party formed when Free Market Liberals left the UDF to form the FMP (Free Market Party). Fortuna was formally colonized in 1993 when President Louis San-Pierre established the city of Port Baksik in order to revive the declining economy.

The Concordian Space Agency was formed in 2000 and headquartered in Central, however, early exploration was marred by a growing conflict between the Fortune 100 and the lower class workers. The Halsted Strikes was the first of the major workers strike of the early 2000s, led by the United Workers Alliance the made numerous demands about the Republic and their strike had a larger effect on the economy that the Panic of 63 did. But the UWA split into two main factions, the SDL (Socialist Democracy League) and into the Neo-Marshites. They are the precursors to modern-day Social Democrats and Syndicalists respectively.

The NM unified their various communities into a single Holy Republic. The last 10 years of the 1st Republic was one of instability and conflict as tensions between the SDL/NEOM and the Fortune 100 spilled onto the streets. Between 2030-2038, no president managed to serve the full term, one being impeached, one failing to win reelection, one being assassinated by a growing independence movement in Fortuna, and the last being forced to flee Elysium and to Harmonia as an SDL/Neo Marshite alliance occupied the city and proclaimed a Workers Republic.

The First Republic of Concordia ended with chaos, and Concordia slips into anarchy.

2038-2050 12 Years Anarchy
A period of 12 years where there was no unified state, it was extremely chaotic and border conflicts between the 8 major nations occurred often.
The eight nations had various ideologies, from the Concordian Workers Union who supported a Syndincalist system and was ruled by a Congress of Trade Unions to the Most Holy Republic of Nessuna Meccania, a relgious democracy that followed the NM faith.
Eventually, in 2050, an agreement was made between 7 of the 8 powers, only the Holy Republic refused. The agreeing powers created the 2nd Republic and attempted to solve the issues of the 1st Republic.

2050-2089 The Second Republic of Concordia
A Parliamentary system with an attempt at federalism, the President lost much of the powers it used to have and a new post of Chancellor was created. Chancellors were often unstable and could be easily replaced not only by the party but by a vote of no-confidence as rarely did a single party attain a majority. Parties in the Second Republic were also much more numerous, at its peak, there were over 25 individual parties in the Congress.
The capital was moved to Blairstown officially at the start of the 2nd Republic
Chancellor Halland of the United Alliance of Democratic Parties (UADP) passed the first set of Social Welfare bills in Concordia parts of which still exist today. In 2075 the Holy Republic finally joined the Republic peacefully, meaning for the first time all of Concordia was ruled by one Government and Concordian civilization had fully colonized all three continents. However, the rise of the CP (Centralist Party) who wished to return power to the President brought an end of the Second Republic, once the CP were swept into power in 2082 as part of the NSP (New State Party) they rapidly abolished the Republic and put all power in the hands of Robert Harold-Blair as the Chancellor-Protector of Concordia, and declared the “New State of Concordia”

However, the spirit of Democracy and Liberty will never die! The Resistance against the New State began almost immediately.
"Love Live Concordia, Long Live the Republic, Death to the New State"
-The motto of the Central Committee to Restore the Republic

2089-2103 Tyranny of the New State
An autocratic state ruled by Robert Harold-Blair, he attempted to purge all vestiges of the Republic and centralize all authority under himself but was cowed first by Central who demonstrated the first-ever Nuclear Weapon in the Inner Concordian Sea. Central then seceded from the New State and threantened any attempt by the New State to conquer Central with retaliation. Then by growing discontentment with his rule
He was forced to crush any dissent harshly and violently, utilizing both his paramilitary allies and the New State Army (NSA). Although he tried to distract the populace with massive pageantry and events, including the founding of new capital in the Central Bellonan plain, later named Cielo. It only emboldened the dissenters, events such as the Takamagahara Massacre (2101), Marsh’s Landing Protests (2101), and the Revolt of Blairstown (2103) the last of which turned into a full revolt, where rebels ousted the New State and occupied the city for themselves.
When opposition leaders came together in Marsh’s Landing to declare the New State illegitimate, Marsh’s Landing was destroyed and leveled, the leaders of the opposition fled to Harmonia in order to organize a unified Rebellion against the New State.

2103-2110 Republic Restoration War
The war started in earnest in Harmonia, when rebels launched numerous attacks to secure the entire continent, the Central Committee to Restore the Republic (shorted to just the Central Committee) called upon anyone loyal to the Republic to rise up against the New State. They were joined by the island of Port Valisia and all of the old Holy Republic, the remainder of Harmonia’s coast was liberated in 2105 and joined the Rebellion.
By 2107 the Rebels seized Bilvis and the ruins of Marsh’s Landing, where the leader of the Central Committee reiterated the call and declared that victory was imminent.
It would take 3 more years but the Central Committee emerged victoriously and seized control of Concordia, declaring the 3rd Republic.

2110-Present The Third Republic of Concordia
The Third Republic was a mixed Presidential-Parliamentary system, where both the President and Chancellor held some powers, but kept in check through check-in balanced with the other branches of government. Aspects of Federalism were kept but were weakened.
The first President of the Third Republic, Louise Alana-Talyor spent her presidency attempting to bring harmony to Concordia and transition to a strong democracy from the autocratic system of the New State. She rebuilt Marsh’s Landing as Marshport increased funding of the CSA and funded the start of the Hyperspace project in 2121. She retired from the presidency in 2130 and disappeared shortly afterward, leading to many stories as to what happened. Her disappearance led to a small cult forming around her. Nuclear Weaponry was banned by her successor and all weapons were seized and destroyed by the Third Republic, all nuclear energy was switched to Thorium instead. Spacecraft capable of going rapidly between planets became possible 2158. Shortly afterward the (CIN) Concordian Interstellar Navy was founded with three ships initially, the Achebe, Bryant, and Alana-Taylor.
Mining and Research stations were constructed starting in 2172, and 4 were complete by 2195, owned by private corporations, the profits they generated greatly boosted the Concordian economy. However, it led to adverse effects to the economies of cities reliant on resource extraction, leading to sharp declines in the economics of those cities.
The first-ever Hyperdrive capable ship was fitted out in 2199, and a test jump took in place on January 1st.

With the basic background lore out of the way, Welcome to Concordia, enjoy your stay

A world map of Concordia, with the 17 "Constituent Republics" shown. The continents from left to right are Bellona, Harmonia, Fortuna
The ISS Starseeker has successfully reported a successful test jump, jumping to the system to our north and returning without issue. Captian Gordon Velour is being heralded as a modern-day explorer, a hero of the Republic!
Test Jump Map.png

However, the top news in the Republic for 2200 is the Upcoming Concordian General Elections.
The Incumbent President has already announced he will not run, and his personal coalition of various Independent Candidates will also dissolve throwing the election in flux. Three candidates and 8 parties vying for power in the Republic.

In Congress, the 8 parties are all follows
Concordian Collectivist Party:

CCP.jpg

The Far Left party of the Republic made up of moderate Neo-Marshites who push for reform through Democracy. The party is anchored in the working-class voters of the urban centers of Concordia including cities such as Cielo, Coghburn, Marshport, and Bilvis.
The party won 27 seats in 2190

Concordian Socialist Party:
CSP.jpg

A left-wing Socialist Party that is one of the Third Republic's oldest, the party has produced 1 President already, in addition to a few Chancellors. However, the party has been on the decline in recent years but has undergone a renaissance under the current Party Leadership who has rejuvenated the party with its energetic campaign. Their voter base is the voters from Harmonia and Fortuna, especially the ones clustered in urban centers. The party has already entered an electoral coalition with the SDPC proclaiming the "Concordian Progressive Front"
The party won 35 seats in 2190

Social Democratic Party of Concordia:

View attachment SDPC.png
The Premier Center-Left Party of Concordia, which became the primary opposition during the current Presidents 2 terms, the party formed as an alliance of left-wing parties in the 2160's. The party is widely expected to become the largest party in Congress during the next General election and are favored to win the Presidency as well. The party has already entered a electoral coalition with the CSP proclaiming the "Concordian Progressive Front". The SDPC is popular across the urban centers of Concordia, especially their stronghold of Lanthea.
The party won 72 seats in 2190

Concordian Caution Coalition:
CCC.jpg

A party centered around the Nessuna Meccania faith, however unlike their conservative and traditional brethren who ran the Holy Republic in the 2000's the CCC are moderates, accepting the need for technological progress but calling for regulations to unchecked Tecnoghical progress. Their supporters come from their Homeland in Southern Bellona.
They are a new party for the 2200 General Elections

The Democratic Conservative Party:
DCP.jpg

The oldest party in Concordian Policts having formed immediately after the proclamation of the Third Republic, the Democratic Conservative Party has already produced 2 presidents. But years of continuous hits, scandals, and weak leadership has put the party on the fringe. But with its newly elected leader rallying the base and their extremely strong campaign, the party has rocketed up the polls, poised to be the second or third-largest party. Their supports are in the more rural areas of Bellona and Fortuna in addition to wealthier residents on Harmonia.
The party won 14 seats in 2190

The Concordian Prosperity and Liberty Party:
CPLP.jpg

Another Center-Right Party (the DCP are the other) party pushes the platform of balanced free-market economics, the leader has promised to make poverty a worry of the past. It has propelled his party to becoming well known in the upcoming election. The parties base comes from the elites in Harmonia, however, a large amount of poorer voters are turning out for them in Bellona as well.
They are a new party for the 2200 General Elections

Alanite Democratic Union
ADU.jpg

A right-wing party that has pushed hard for a strengthening of the Free Market, the party is also affiliated with the Alanite Faith. The party was treated as fringe coming into the elections, however new leadership has moderated the party making promises of toleration and a protection of Democracy has also begun to uptick on the polls. Their base in Elysium, where their party head was elected Governor, the metropolis has always voted right of center, having been through the horrors of the CWU.
The party won 20 seats in 2190

True Concordian Party

TCP.jpg

A newly founded party established by the Governor of Chathburg CR, the party is founded on the values of the Star Children faith, however, a greater focus is placed on the military and security of the Republic. Unlike other parties, this party has elected to focus on the youth, where they have pumped large amounts of funding to drive up the youth vote. This is where their primary support comes from, in addition to Chathburg CR.
They are a new party for the 2200 General Elections

2200 Presidental Candidates
After much early speculation of a possible 6 or 7 candidate race, the field coalesced into three Candidates:

Alexander Lyons (SDPC,CSP)
Leader of the Social Democratic Party of Concordia, he entered as the early favorite, carry endorsements from both his own party and the Concordian Socialist Party. However, due his lackluster personal campaign, and a centerist candidate drawing in his votes, his early lead had been whitled away. But he still retains the edge and analysts agree that he should win in the Second Round.

Dr.Dawn Visianov (Independent)
A Scientist, who worked on the Hyperspace Project and running as the Centerist candidate. Dr Visianov's campaign will steal votes from both of her competitors, giving her the chance to win in round 2 should she be one of the candidates remaining.

Governor Feodoronova Abramovich (ADU)

Governor of Eylsium she entered as a underdog candidate, polling well behind Lyons and Visianov however a series of strong interviews and a strong debate performance has cosolidated her support base. Due to Dr.Visianov's potential splitting of the vote with Lyons, Governor Abramovich could win with a r1 majority.

Indeed, however we did not get approved so we are posting it as a normal AAR. I think you could theoretically DM me or Shark for more info although do not quote me on this
