as I expected, they don’t work visually with base game low commercial. I’m getting ugly buildings covered in neon signs spoiling the look.

These two CCPs feel very out of town and from a different time period and really need small shops to complement them.

I know I can demolish, make historic, use workshop, etc. but would prefer some matching older style shops that blend in. Maybe a commercial CCP with a few themes to cover subtler options.

This is part of the reason why I thought a Brutalist CCP would have been a better shout.

Every city has those horrible concrete blocks and they honestly go anywhere, especially in areas where failed social housing and planned communities are.

An update or dlc pack for the low density commercial buildings is something I've been wanting for a while now (along with big box department stores that function like the fish market). The University City CC pack touched on this but only goes to level 2 which is annoying.

Just yesterday I was going around my city deleting those hideous level 3 commercial buildings in my suburban areas. The historical option, while good, is very inconvienent when having to re-zone areas.

Interesting, I would have looked into the university ccp but seems a waste of time if it can’t be used as a theme.

I don’t think CO have ever said why they did it that way or haven’t deemed it worth updating.

Really big pity is that University CCP does not have it's own District style as other CCP has... Because I think that the low commercial buildings from that CCP are great and they fit quite well even with other CCPs imho. It would be great if CO creates District Style for University CCP in some update or if they allow to create own styles with in-game buildings too (and not only with workshop ones).

The University City pack has some really good low density commercial assets. The best in my opinion.
The best way to use the pack is with the building themes mod (consoles come with the option to use it as a style). But if you're like me and mostly like to play vanilla with DLC, then this can be annoying.

Would like to be able to use UC as a style.

For a style to function correctly, it needs to contain buildings for all levels and enough lot sizes to cover the zone, and unfortunately, University City is missing both some levels and lot sizes for both residential and commercial.

Thanks for the clarification though it's mentioned above and in a Steam review that it works as a style on console.

Sorry for the necro, but will this finally be resolved in the next free update?

I am thinking of completing my DLC collection next week but if the buildings can't be used as style (as advertised in the screenshots on steam) I doesn't feel worth it.

I verified this and console users actually do have a district style for this. Can this be added to the PC version as well so this can be used vanilla?

Please no.

This CCP works fine as general random growables, and the district style thing is just an absolute waste as it just limits the architectural range in areas.

Styles are OPTIONAL. I don't know why there can't be parity between what consoles users get and PC users.

They fixed it for PS4/PS5/Xbox This is how is looks there.

All the other styles have combox boxes in game, from cars to buildings. So this must be a bug that was never fixed.

So hence my question why this isn't implemented yet on PC and if this will be on the next update.

This is not a bug. I can't comment on what was done differently on console to get the style to work because we do not work directly on the console version of the game. I simply don't know the answer to that. But for us to implement a style on PC there needs to be a certain amount of buildings, and unfortunately, University City is lacking some levels and lot sizes.

While I agree with you in general about not liking district styles, the problem with having the University houses as random growables among the CS 1 vanilla buildings, is that the style doesn't fit at all. Plus, you lose the style at level 5 unless you make the buildings historical, which can be time consuming.

I really hope that CO has a better, and a more consistent art direction for growables in CS 2, so that we don't have to use District Styles as often.
