Pouncing on France whenever the Wends fight them seems to work well for you. Too bad you couldn't quite connect your Iberian territories. Don't let the Wends get too strong or they'll be the new France.

I think they will... None of the African nations languishing in the Sub-Saharan tech group are going to topple Mali, and they've maintained good relations with Portugal so an invasion there is unlikely -- I think you'll see Mali expand pretty easily
A couple of things:
First, long time lurker , I remember starting to read the CK2 section of the AAR just before your first election as King of Lombardy and I just wanted to say just how good both parts of this AAR have been and that you have a talent for blending narrative and gameplay seamlessly.
Second, is it just Scotland that has embraced Protestantism?
Third, did you give England the custom ideas that you were talking about before? I remember you not including them yet due to not being sure which power would win out in the British Isles.
Please keep up the good work with this AAR!

Well thank you for reading and thanks for posting! I appreciate the feedback -- I'm glad so many people seem to enjoy my writing style.
At this point, Scotland is the only country to officially adopt Protestantism as its religion. It's spreading pretty doggedly through the British Isles, though, and a pretty solid portion of England's provinces have become Protestant, so I imagine there's now a decent chance that they'll convert at the state level. That would pretty much end Italy's cooperation with them, since the Bavaraes are staunchly loyal to Rome and wouldn't think of allying with a heretic nation.
I didn't give any custom ideas to England... Honest answer? I forgot But given the War of the Roses event fired and had them taken over by the Yorkists, I feel like vanilla English ideas are plenty appropriate.

Loving it! I have a feeling that Brittany up there in Canada will die out eventually, they chose a very poor place to escape to. France seems to slowly be softening, I think that unless they start establishing colonies in America you'll be able to conquer them and put them in their place, with some Wendish intervention of course. Please keep this going, it is brilliant!
I see GB turning protestant as a very good thing. Their treaty of Tordesillas doesn't apply anymore and you'll have the pope's official sanctioning to go after their colonies... excellent... Besides, it looks like you won't need them against France anymore (not that they ever did anything).
I am also a bit worried about Brittany, they went too far north where the land is poor and are still very small as no doubt the cost of colonizing must be a real burden for such a small nation. Maybe some subsidies and an alliance to help them along? They should be far enough north not to conflict with your interests in the region I'm sure, and a strong north american ally could be very useful against the encroaching French.

Brittany is doing rather well actually -- I'll grab a screenshot of North America later on. They have a little extra help, though... Italy is guaranteeing their independence
Now I've caught up the CK II and EU IV part and will continue to follow the Italo-Lombards' history in a world of empires.

Shouldn't be possible. As far as I understand the mechanic, a new center of reformation is only created when a country adopts Protestantism or Reformed, and even then only three at a time. Brittany is too far away to be converted.

Keep those natives and invent a storyline involving the Bretons! I'm scared that Britanny will end up with too disconnected holdings. Soon the inevitable conflict over the New World will happen, and wars will be fought between you and England.

You don't have to watch the forum. On another board that is on the same service if you follow a thread but son't go to a next page that is new it won't indicate you've read all new posts and won't let you know about an update. That's why if you follow a lot of stuff it helps every so often to go and hit watched thread instead of using the alerts. There may be a thread you haven't seen update in awhile and that would be why.
Already planning on it! I'm probably going to split the next update into two parts, one for the New World and one for Europe, as there's been a good bit going on thanks to the Reformation, some more wars, and shifting alliances. Plus I want to stop and take a good look at the Americas now that there's been time for things to settle into place. Probably going to add one or both tonight/tomorrow, since I have a pretty relaxing weekend planned.
Having an AI go for an exodus strategy even if event driven has to a first in AARland. Quite the achievement mr. RedTemplar.
