Sons of Alexandros
Sons of Rome
Sons of God
Sons of Chaos
Our revered ancestors fought to forge a world shaped in their image and shed their blood on the altar of their sacred cause. Their ancient exploits are nothing but legend now, and a great darkness has descended upon the realm of Man. Where are the titans of old now? Where is Alexandros, where is Seleukos, where is Kurus, where is Caesar? Can you remember their deeds and make their spectres bow their heads before you, in approval of your mighty leadership? Can you unite the bickering, warring realms of Man and forge an Empire as the world has never seen? Can you be the Restorer of the Realm of Light and banish the Darkness? Lux Invicta!
Hello, and welcome to my first attempt at an AAR! Well, more specifically, here is my first attempt at a Divine Influence game; if you are unaware of what a Divine Influence game is, it is a type of succession game where, as opposed to sticking to a dynasty or country, you roll random rulers and play as them until your turn is over. While there is already a great Divine Influence game going on right now (ANSGAAR Reborn), this one is different, as while ANSGAAR is in vanilla, this will be set in the Lux Invicta mod. For those unaware of what Lux Invicta is, it is an alternate history mod; while there is a great timeline on everything that has happened in the world of Lux Invicta, the general idea is that classical thought has not died out, and pretty much every group that existed up until the start date (1066) is still around; the Diadochi (successors to Alexander) still hold land throughout Alexander's old empire, Roman successor states dot the land around the borders of the old empire, worshipping different gods (some are Christian, some are Mithraic, some worship the sun god Sol Invictus, some worship entirely different gods), barbarian invaders wage war against the civilized world, and Muslims battle against pagans and Zoroastrians in the Middle East. Another defining characteristic of the mod is that most of the world is split up into various duchies, as opposed to there being large empires vs. small counties/duchies, as in vanilla, so almost anybody is able to be successful and make a name for themselves.
So, now that that's out of the way, here are the rules:
1. Obviously, the Lux Invicta mod is required to participate, which can be found here: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...rimary-distribution-official-releases.879741/
2. Select from 3-5 rulers using the random ruler button (the little die in the corner). Please post all your choices because it is always fun for everyone to speculate on what would be the best choice.
3. Every player gets a minimum of fifteen years per turn. If your ruler dies before that time period then you can play their heir until they die. Please try to finish turns within a week, though I'll be flexible.
4. Please post your save to the thread once you are finished. The next person on the list can then upload the save and randomly select their next character based on the save. The next person will have two days to respond until we move on.
5. While not required, during a playthrough, players are encouraged to post AARs detailing their progress. Players can be as detailed or sparse as you like and use any kind of AAR writing style. If a player does not have time to write much or post screenshots then a brief update is sufficient.
6. DLCs are optional but the main ones are preferred, including Sunset Invasion (while I understand why the DLC isn't very popular, seeing how the world is already very different, I think an Aztec invasion could be interesting to see).
7. We will use the default disease options and turn off Shattered Retreat/Defensive Pacts.
8. We will always try to use the most recent version of the game and mod unless the saves become incompatible.
