Viceroyalties in big countries it's pain for now, especially when you try to use both king and duke tiers. Probably we need an option to auto pass titles to vassal heir after death or little event which ask you if you wanna keep it to yourself or pass to the heir.

Personally, I'd love to see the devs go through old events with a fine comb, trying to restore some of the balance that I, personally, feel has been lost since around 2.4.5. A few examples that leap immediately to mind:
  • Childhood education - as has been mentioned prior, some of the childhood foci feel completely pointless and are rarely chosen (ex. Pride). I feel that they need to be rebalanced to try and make all of the choices as viable options.
  • Court Physicians - as much as I dislike the position, it's here to stay. The events tied to their aid, though, still feel rather unbalanced, as I feel it is these events around their treatment that leads to an outbreak of lunatics and disfigurements that seem to crop up far more often than they had before.
  • Societies - Hermetics are a remarkably anachronistic group to include in a game about the Middle Ages, since their prominence was either in antiquity... or the Renaissance. Not in-between. Even so, I could tolerate it more if it wasn't such a huge society in game. I've started up several games to find the Pope as the leader of the society, which feels rather... off.
  • Secret Cults - These have been getting fine-tuned since their implementation, and perhaps could still use a touch of work on them. I'd love to see them expanded to allow for heretical secret cults, too, rather than being limited to the parent religion.
  • Witch Hunting - Not a thing during the Middle Ages. In fact, belief that witches and the like were real was considered heresy, not the supposed practice itself. Having the Court Chaplain hunt heretics to burn at the stake feels, much like Hermetics, rather anachronistic - at best suited to the very tail end of the game's timeline.
  • Pregnancy Events - There's at least one event that is guaranteed to either make the mother-to-be gain gluttonous or fat, or to give the child a disability. Needless to say, this is... rather unbalanced, and leads to an outbreak of disabilities and the fat trait (which is also far too common).
It is things like these above that have stunted my desire to play CK2 over the past many months. Holy Fury was a remarkably strong leap in the right direction, but as hinted at above, there are still a lot of artifacts from past patches (which, being patches instead of DLC, you couldn't opt-out and avoid) that crop up and ruin the wonderful immersion CK2 is capable of.

Now, this all being said... For new stuff I'd love to see added... More flavor for Orthodoxy. As has been said before, Orthodoxy has so little content, with almost nothing unique added since Legacy of Rome back in 2012. At the very least, could we add some mechanics to flesh out the Ecumenical Patriarchy, and perhaps autocephalous patriarchs as well? Something to help simulate the struggle between church and state which went on in the East, somewhat similar to the struggle in the West with the Pope and Holy Roman Emperor. Key difference being, mind you, the power the Byzantine Emperor held over the Patriarch, often directly appointing the man to the position. Even so, there were a fair few Patriarchs who proved to be a thorn in the side of the state. This is definitely the subject I feel the devs should focus upon for their next project, especially with how important Orthodoxy was for the Medieval world.

Ultimately, regardless of what the devs choose to focus upon, though, I would love if it played more to historical authenticity and plausibility rather than an almost Hollywood-esque vision of how the Middle Ages were. Something to bring back the deep and amazing immersion that made me fall in love with CK2 to begin with :)

Concerning childhood, I wish other traits would count when choosing the focus at 12. Like Left handed could be a bonus in martial education, genius/quick would appear as green for each one, ugly would be a malus in diplomacy, and so on!

-Matronyms: If in a matrilineal marriage, children get a matronym if belonging to a culture which uses patronyms. I mean seriously, the children of my mighty Norse Empress are known as x, son of (father's name), this makes no sense at all!
This became particularly jarring with the new option of enatic succession. It's really weird that a norse empress from a long line of other norse empresses is basically called daughter of x (father's name). Especially if the father is some nobody consort. Which reminds me. Please fix the bug that prevents children of consorts to inherit patrilinial bloodlines from their mother.

I'd kill for a QoL improvement to be able to flag ANY minor title as "Announce on Empty" the way commander/physician/regent titles do. I neeeeeeeeed to know when my Court Tutor slot becomes empty or invalid so I don't get ruthlessly spammed with childhood events and my kids don't get the wrong stats/educations.

Papal Excommunications need a fix badly...

Now, we have all of these real sins for the Pope to look at. We have Known Murderers-many of whom are Kinslayers, and regicides-we have drunkards and lechers, and we have Secret Societies, including Satanism.

It's time to look at Papal AI, and tweak it to focus on those, instead of hammering random mooks simply because they're depressed, have the flu, or someone else wants their land...

Real Excommunication needs real sinners!

I suggested that too. Ended up being a fairly easy fix.

In common/minor_titles/00_minor_titles.txt, add

Code:
is_high_prio = yes

right under

Code:
title_teacher = {

Can probably do the same for any other minor titles you need important.

Is it still the case that the Nizari Ismaili state (represented by a Holy Order whose name I forget) doesn't automatically have anything to do with The Assasins? I hate playing as an about-to-be indoctrinated into the powerful sect of trained killers, only to be taken to a random Wali's shitville rather than Alamut.

Edit: In addition, it would be good flavour to add a discount in piety to any member of the Assassins paying for said Holy Order.

Fix restricted de jure drift so it works for kingdoms drifting into Empires, kingdoms ignore the game rule

Fix the game not remembering who was excluded from interactions in the prisoner screen upon reloading

Either remove the saints screen form religions that don't get saints or give them the ability to get saints (christian heresies with no religious head)

And for an actual suggestion instead of just small fixes: I'd like the ability to "accept"/protect certain foreign cultures in the realm from switching culture

Nice thread! Many interesting ideas!

So concerning minor tweeks i would also like to see:
1) Scaling costs cap
2) Concerning prisoners:
2.1 Setting in the dungeon/house arrest/oubliette preset option for all prisoners
2.2 Also sacrifice all button
2.3 Selection of excecution method between harsh/merciful (for RP reasons)
3) Diplomacy:
3.1 Rework "political concerns" modifier (neigboring someone is very propable to make them reject mariage/ alliance propositions even when you are much much stronger than your him).
3.2 Rework "can press claim modifier" to the cases where this is actually propable (no Bon in Scandinavia or Romuvas in Africa please).

Also really interesting ideas on the religions & heresies. Hoping to see some of them implemented.

What I want is some Chivalry oriented warrior-style society for Christians. Nothing so crazy and duel oriented like pagans have, but some society which still allows occasional duels but focuses on strategy and military education and generally martial training.

I also really want for devs to improve Family, Rulership and Scholarship lifestyles at least a litte bit.Those are the weakest and least used ones from way of life dlc.

Lastly please let us improve Learning education. As far as I know you can improve any education with way of life, except learning.. for whatever reason. Also nobody really goes for Learning education anymore so that's kinda sad, it's definitely the least important education/stat.

Also I would love Knights to be more fleshed out in ck2, perhaps in form of society or something. I just wish characters could gain knighthood in the game.

Yes, but being able to toggle them (like you can for Intrigue actions) in-game) rather than having to run a mod would be great. Example: What if I'm running a bad ruler and want to flag all of my +loyalty honoraries for a generation or two but then want to unflag them later? I wouldn't want to load a mod, then stop, exit the game, unload the mod, etc.

Being able to hot-toggle would be amazing.

A lot of the education/childhood events really need to check whether or not the child in question is a prisoner. Things like "caught me buying a surprise present" or "read my letters" make no sense whatsoever if the child in question is currently sitting in prison.

Well I said this from my personal experience. Neither me or people I play with ever pick Learning.

I only know it's used by minmaxers which really want to push tech as much as possible but does it have any other uses? And even then I think other educations are much better, especially as you can improve the other ones, and not the learning.. for some reason.

2.More options for the diplomatic & steward orientated characters, I feel like those have a lot less content compared to intrigue/learning/martial;
3.More ways to interact with your vassals, perhaps even specialised forms of vassals where certain vassals will expect certain "rights" that their father/grandfather etc also had. Like tax cut or a certain title;
4.Expansion of the lifestyles, add some more like being a smith and add more content to each of these lifestyles;
5.More mechanics dealing with your wife's family, make it more important to marry someone of noble ranking in or out of your kingdom with various events in result. Make it a scandal to marry someone that is lowborn;
6.Make the minor titles more important, adding events and automated ways to hand out these titles;
7.(Big feature, but would still be great): A feature expanding on trade, adding some specialised trade goods & mechanics related to food where a warstruck country will need outside help to stay prosperous.

I feel that these additions would add something to the parts of the game that are under developed.

How about making minor titles useful? I mean, currently we don't need them aside from Commaners / Physicians / Regents and some exceptions in Byzantine empire and muslim nations, while the rest (almoner, architect, master of horses etc) are just useless aside from slightly improving relations with vassals. So, how about adding more flavour and bonii to those positions?

And another thing - cultures. We need more cultural splits, especially regarding Italian and German cultures. They could probably split while in that big amorphous HRE and EU4 already has a good set of cultures you can take inspiration from. The same goes for Eastern Slavic where you can add Ruthenian as a result of mixing Western and Easter slavic and Belorussian as a result of Baltic/Slavic mixture. Or you can just reshape the original set of tribal cultures (Ilmenian, Severian...) according to the borders of 5 Russian Kingdoms (that are actually Grand Principalities...).

And if you could please add more "off-map" cultures? Like, Japanese, Korean and maybe something Indonesian? The first two could have a small (really small, like 20 times smaller than Mongols and Jurchens) chance to grab the Dragon throne for themselves. Just for the sake of althistory. And he Indonesians are closely ties to the Chola Empire that controled large peases of the archipelago and the player should at least have some way to do the same thing, at least in a way similar to China interactions - send part of your forces eastwards and later get some benefits.

Lastly please let us improve Learning education. As far as I know you can improve any education with way of life, except learning.. for whatever reason. Also nobody really goes for Learning education anymore so that's kinda sad, it's definitely the least important education/stat.
It's also worth noting that your spouse's learning stat is not particularly useful, it only contributes to realm learning unlike the others. It does not give extra tech points. Also, the only effect of realm learning is to provide a small trickle of piety.

If we're looking at quick fixes, here are some small changes that could immediately improve some of the focuses you listed:

Rulership = eliminate the possibility of getting the "Stressed" trait. Decrease the mean time to hit for events.

Scholarship = allow the Scholarship focus, Scholar trait, or a L4 Learning Education to mentor an additional 2 wards each. (For a max of 8 wards if you have all 3.)

Family = increase not just your own fertility but give a small bonus to all your sons, daughters, and grandchildren. Decrease the mean time to hit for events, and for successful Game Master events. Every so often, allow someone with Socializer and an active Family focus to give a pet Dog or Cat to a child, grandchild, spouse, vassal, ally, or friend (ie the same event you get during the Hunter focus, but one you can only give away).

Do all of those minor fixes, then look at the metrics in a few months and check if any of them are being OVER-used.

As for German there are two options, ideally (for early starts, only to revert to my second proposal later) it should start out with Franconian, Saxon, Swabian (AKA Alemannian) and Bavarian, and gradually end up with Low German and High German. Or just start out with Low German and High German, this IMHO seems to be more attainable, though the former would be even better. That being said having Low and High German would IMHO already be an improvement over the current one.
