Odd...I was still there when you left...oh well...I found out in our tests this weekend that Wallachia is tough...Bohemia is tough, but not as tough as Wallachia. I did forget to mention that I had 37 percent inflation, went bankrupt twice and had the max in loans...I suck as Bohemia....
Wallachia is indeed tuff, but if I stick to my plan I do fine, for the first 10 years anyway.
Yes you do...I find that I do okay as Genoa...but perhaps I am still used to the old version. Haven't had that much time with the latest version. But I had fun.....
Is it possible for one of you (most likely Amric or LordLeto) to run some tests as Naples? If possible for you to play it in MP I'd be glad, but SP is also valid. I'd like to know what would you feel about my starting poverty when playing it.

I did do it SP, remember? I posted about it earlier in this thread. Your poverty is about like Wallachia's, but you have a better starting position, so to speak. The biggest issue you have is the Pope. And I discussed how to lose albania as an ally. Just don't honor the DoW it inevitably does against the Duchy of Athens. Now if you have either an alliance with Aragon or Genoa, then the Pope does not attackyou. I promoted TC in Apulia and Naples and tried to put merchants in CoT's, but they didn't last long there. About a month, two at most. I also mentioned that Aragon was a pretty good ally and helped Naples gain both Romagna and marche. They also help pretty well with Siena and Tuscany.
Don't really know what happens with Genoa, as the game crashed on me while I was seeing what went with that. But either way you end up with a tough row to hoe, but in some ways I'd have to say better than Leto with Wallachia. Although he does pretty well with them.

I just did naples again up until 1436....oddly enough the Pope didn't DoW me. Still had the alliance with Albania. Went to war with teh Pope and took Romagna and Marche....and 8 ducats. Stab was at -2. War taxes and two bankruptcies finished the war. RM'd all of Italy save the Pope. Siena ended up taking Rome and annexing them. Albania Dow'd Athens...I declined...bringing back to -2 stab...then got asked into an alliance with Tuscany and Siena with Athens...Ottomans Dow'd Athens...Athens was gone. Albania landed at Apulia...I whacked them down. Accepted a white peace with them. Ottomans land at apulia and whack me...they take the province. With help from my allies I take it back eventually. In 1434 Ottomans accept a white peace....but I have another bankruptcy during the Ottoman war. Have two loans that I won't be able to pay off...but I have four provinces...and 27 percent inflation. So it can be done...just very difficult.

Now, I agree with all of you about the division of E.Europe. Frankly, I want none of it If I could avoid taking Hungarian provinces, I'd be happy (well, I will take one or two, maybe). My expansion should be aimed to the heart of Germany - I will try to convert all of HRE to my faith. The rest in details.
I am also a sucker for kicking Ottoman butt. Count me in later in the game.
My official enemies: any enemy of Christendom. This includes Catholics and Muslims. Orthodox - in his speech to Pope Jan Hus actually praised Orthodox Church over Catholic. Bohemian Protestantism is aimed to bringing Christianity to its Orthodox roots.
P.S. Since Genoa and Napoli are going to fighting Pope I will consider them true Christians no matter what religion they are.

Good to see you back, Nalivayko! I haven't read your post yet...but I will...I have been juggling the concept of going protestant myself as Genoa...but I just don't know if I ought to do so...Decisions, decisions...
I wouldnt, even if you do expand into south Germany the conversion cost for the high pop Italian provinces is rather large. It would probly be more cost efective to convert Witt and Wurt when and it you take them.
Editlus if you go CRC you can start wars on Nalis behalf if he needs to take some German protestant countrys down. Stability might be a problem then.

My father will quit early, very early in the day to get me here and we arrive in Pindamonhangaba at lunchtime.

I think we are all greatly looking forward to the game, Anibal. Especially since we all seem to have our opening strategies figured out. At least for the first ten years. Now we just have to survive for the rest of the game without having the majors crush us. But I am pretty sure we can do it.
Well since our openers require the distruction of AUstria and Hungary, there goes two potential problems....

On the first ten years, I plan to have crushed the pope and Siena. On the next ten, until 1439, I plan to have crushed Aragon, taking his italian possessions plus Malta. At least in SP, the only chance for me against the pope is, as I have already stated, to make a blitzkrieg with the powerfull combination of cavalry and a bankruptcy. Passes the pope threat, I'll be rich enough to war Aragon with my own funds, and have built at least 10 galleys to blockade the aragonese ports and to move my troops to Sardinia and Malta. If I manage to get the Baleares on that war, it's even better yet.
After the first twenty years... two possible immediate approaches: To finish Aragon or to expand into the balkanic coastline except Ragusa. Or maybe send expeditionary forces to Austria or Hungary... But it will depend on the circunstances. I need to stablish myself prior to make adventures, so the first twenty years will be crucial. As I am farther than each one of you from the "theatre of operations", got to consolidate myself first and soon get a landborder with Genoa.

So am I. Ill have to get into a war with the turks pretty soon so they cant take Constant, maybe wars with both TUrk and Byz if the turks are beseiging Constant, Ill have to steal their seige, forcibly.
