"This is BBC News bringing you the very lastest directly from the front."
"Under the command of German Field Marshal Rommel, the German 5th Army, supporting the German 2nd, has been committed into battle at Evora."
"The Axis are pursuing relentless frontal assaults against Allied positions, assaults that sometimes succeed, but are quickly pushed back by superior Allied troops."
"Not only do our men have a huge advantage in artillery and airpower, but the arrival of several American armoured divisions have allowed our men to face the formidable enemy panzer on equal terms."
"At this very moment, Allied tanks are clashing with German panzer in engagements whose scale we haven't seen since the battle of Kursk in 1942."

So far, the valiant defenders of Evora have held firm. But the Germans have only committed a fraction of their men. Given the importance of Evora, the need for reinforcements are urgent. We can expect Evora to turn into a huge bloodbath for both sides, as the numbers of soldiers involved are starting to near epic propotions.
