My first game ever (well, apart from two failed tries at Byzantium :p), on very easy (so no badboy wars):

Europe:
England1.PNG

Würtenberg, Bavaria and Croatia are vassals.

North America:
England2.PNG

I also own Brazil, California, considerable parts of Africa and India, and some provinces in the far east.

I remember the last thing I was doing: annexing every catholic nation so that no-one could have a cb on me for owning rome :). However, the reason I stopped was because too much happened (like those damn pirates  ), so it took so much time to progress even a single year.

As promised here is my colonial powerhouse, Spain.

Western Europe and North Africa:
Lorraine and Palatinate and Burgundy killed France and got big nations from them. I inherited Burgundy, and diplo-annexed Palatinate and Lorraine, hence the large holdings in France. I got Yorkshire from annexing Royalists, and then took the rest from England in a late war. North Africa from the Ottomans, obviously.
GiantSpain1.jpg

Eastern Europe, North Africa and Levant:
Naples via event, and the rest in wars with Ottomans.
GiantSpain2.jpg

West Africa and Brazil:
Partly colonization and partly diplo-annex of Portugal.
GiantSpain3.jpg

South and East Africa:
Colonization, annexation of Portugal and war with Kilwa.
GiantSpain4.jpg

South America:
Inca inheritance and colonial.
GiantSpain5.jpg

Mexico and Caribbean:
Aztec and colonial.
GiantSpain6.jpg

Eastern US and Canada:
Mostly colonial with a few gained from England by wars or defection.
GiantSpain7.jpg

Western US and Hawaii:
All colonial.
GiantSpain8.jpg

And can't forget Flores, part of Portugal and occupied by rebels for 200 years. I couldn't be bother to evict them.
GiantSpain9.jpg

Now, before you say Montezuma  my treasury looks like this because I maxed out all techs except trade 10. At max research it was set for 1826 so I put it all into treasury instead. 925 ducats per month for 4-5 years and that's what you get. My inflation is 36%, was around 65% but I have about 200+ governors. Richest non-CoT province was Minais Gerais, peaking at 780 (gold). Note: this is AGCEEP, not vanilla.

To be honest, this was easy to accomplish. Spain in AGCEEP at Normal difficulty is not much of a challenge.

Normal difficulty is not a challenge with any major. ;)

Try Hard difficulty (Very Hard could be easy if you are prepared for BB wars and it could be not very fun neither).

Well, this was only my third game and the first two were Austria and England on Very Easy so I expected it to be a bigger jump. But yeah, I think the next game I start will be at least on Hard.

One of my first real proper attempts at play while I was still learning (1.08 nor/cow)
screensave5qm0.jpg

Thing start becoming a bit odd when you actively need to search out stability hits to keep inflation under control and I am investing in mass cc's to increase my grain/fish income. Looking back I probibly could have run a tighter ship to increase returns. Out of pitty I all the east indies for china to play around in, but they only colonized a few provinces. Come to think of it 1.09 seems tailor made to make English world conquest easier: better monopoplies, less painful DAs, possible land conection to Africa / Siberia / India...

Anyway I never realy planned on taking over Europe, it just sort of happened. I just wanted to press my rightful claims in france (thereby creating the world's strongest military-economic power by a factor of 2+, perfectly inoccent ) and use it as a financial foundation for minor expansion in the new world. Burgundy got wildy out of line (sadly very common) and had to be put down, humanely. Then Spain failed to conquer the defenceless empires of gold; someone obvisously need to pick up the slack. If Spain won't do it, and France can't do it, who does that leave: England, Portugal, Denmark, or Poland. Anyway, by the time my focus returns to Europe the galic nations all have alliances with great powers. Oh, well FVs for all !

A rather dull and uninteresting map of Europe:
screensave2cg4.jpg

screensave1vz3.jpg

Africa is much the same, but don't worry; south Amerrica is much more red.

@Mats_SX: Random defortification events; the ones that come when you have been at peace forever. I never felt the need to rebuild. Who was going to threaten me?

@123456789ABCDEF: Now that is an England!

Specially in AGCEEP as Spain... I mean, what the f*ck? Gold mines with a value of 800?

In 10 years of income from such mines, you basically get far more income then vanila's gold mines make in 100 years of gameplay.

My inflation is 36%, was around 65% but I have about 200+ governors.

And? Even if you control 1000 provinces and if you have 1000 governors the maximum deflation you will make is 0.25 per year. Unless you are playing a VERY OLD patch.

Meh. I didn't know that. My income was so high I couldn't have cared less about inflation anyway. Anyway I think we've all established that it wasn't hard to do under the game settings I played.

Then the big question is, what dropped my stab?
I hadnt even seen that little thing... but again, what dropped the stability???

Depends on your message settings, the only way i could do it with mine was to simply change my domestic policy slider. got the stab hit, but no message as to why.

Yeah, probably DP slider, or there are some diplomatic actions that could do it (cancelling military access is -1 stab I think)...

The odd bit is that in the picture, there's no stability increase after that, yet you're at maximum. Which obviously implies the use of a cheat code.

Peter Ebbesen did it with Trebizond. Wrote an AAR about it.
