I think they fire for somewhere around 4-6 "major powers" who either did or reasonably could own provinces in the area, including Spain, France, Austria and England. There may be one or two more, but no, not the Swiss.

Here are a few from my current game:

Large Denmark, Hungary and Poland. I had nothing to do with Denmark or Poland. Denmark has already annexed Norway (as normal) but then gobbled up Sweden too. Poland annexed Lithuania which happens regularly I guess, but is currently taking provinces off Russia. As for Hungary, well in this screenshot they did it all on their own. Really not that much odd except some German lands. In the next screen I did some assisting. I suppose they were also helped by me holding Thrace as Papal States.

Here's a decent sized Safayid Empire, again likely helped by me hindering the Ottomans a bit. The screen doesn't show the full extent of how far east their empire goes, because I took it for an AAR. You can see in this that I helped Hungary take some more land off of the Ottomans in our last war.

Yep, Hungary has survived. Also, at the time the event should have occurred, Hungary had Austria vassalized.

As for the shipyards, I wasn't paying attention but I think one was built by Provence and the other by France, who then inherited Provence?

Could because Hungary can always escape but vassalization has nothing to do with it.

Did you check treasury of France? It should be the famous bug of insane treasury in billions. I never saw AI building shipyards without this.

Not much has changed for the Swiss in a while, so I'll post their current status.

They're in both Ragusa and Istria, both taken in offensive wars against the Venetians. It's been odd to see the Swiss navy blockading Venice.

Still looking good into the 17th century. The Lithuanians are so scared of them, they've moved east. :p

Looks like the "mutual respect" that has kept the Swiss from fighting France or Austria has continued...

Where is Swiss BB at the moment?

Swiss BB is 28.3/45. It is 1661, now, though, so time has worn it down quite a bit.

The Lithuanians have somewhat fallen apart. A five/six-province Poland revolted and successfully extracted indemnities and independence from Lithuania. Russia got Voronezh through defection, and Courland (a revolter from the Teutonic Order) gained Memel through defection. Bulgaria, a four province minor, got Dobrudja and Bujak through defection. And Danzig defected to Austria. Corsica revolted as well, but was annexed by the Venetians.

There's still a standoff, as you said. The Swiss have probably 200,000 troops and a small navy (which is unusual all by itself); the Austrians have over 300,000 by my estimation; and the French have around 250,000 according to the Land Forces graph in the ledger. I wish they'd fight though. I got so bored in the 1650's that I invaded Brunei and vassalized them. :eek:o

Yeah, its called MyMap. Everybody calls it that. You can call it MyMap. I call it MyMap though I don't use it. Yoda gets to call it MyMap too, but it isn't HisMap. HisMod is AGCEEP, which doesn't have its own Map, yet. And that gets us to a whole other can of worms...
I can see it now... "When will it be ready?" "I don't know." "Third base!"

(sorry, you just sounded like an Abbott and Costello routine) :D

Anyway, now that I've got that out of my system, I'll say that AdmiralNelson's experiment seems to have led to a very blobby Europe. I think France's early domination is probably because they haven't spent money colonizing, so they focus on conquering small German states instead. England, on the other hand, might rely more on colonies, which would explain why it is losing to Scotland. And Russia, of course, can't stand up to Sweden and Lithuania without leaders.

Yep, I'd agree with most of that. Except that France's growth has been quite gradual. They annexed Bourbonnais in the mid-16th century, so I wouldn't call it "early domination." :)

Lachlan was the first person to try it, so here are his results.

He recommended Paradox release the "No Exploration" mode as an add-on, because they surely would like to see Sweden dominate Europe more often. :D
