The main reason to get a Titan is (imho) the aura that provides a pretty signifcant boost to the fleet (or even all fleets?) nearby.
Something like -10% enemy fire rate or +10% tracking seems quite useful, even if the Titan's damage is sub-par to other ship types.

Plus I think Admirals now make the largest ship their flagship (and can get knocked out of combat or even killed when it dies), so having them as a backbone to make sure you commander is safe will also make them worth the while.

How does a mono BB fleet perform againts Cv and DDs?
I'd guess those L weapons are pretty useless against ships at the evasion cap.

Arc Emitters still have absolute accuracy, so I'm guessing you'd trick-out your BBs with those if you saw a mono DD or mono Cv fleet.
They may have 100% accuracy, but no tracking at all (anymore).
Disruptors might work, though. They have good accuracy, high tracking and should ignore (depending on tech level) up to 2/3 of the enemy effective HP bar. Then again, BBs aren't actually blessed with many S slots.

I can test that. What setup you want (exactly) for the opposing fleet (the "not mono tachyon + KA + NL" one)?
Phew, I dunno.

Corvettes: Stormfire S + Torpedo G / Afterburner, 2x Armor, Shield / Swarm
Destroyer: Neutron L + Plasma M / Afterburner, 3x Armor, 3x Shield / Line

Looking at DD evasion, it's probably not feesible to use them against BB zergs unless you are a Psionic ascended empire.

Ok, I tested 74 corvettes and 38 destroyers (for 49100 minerals and 150 fleet command) against 18 battleships (for 46998 minerals and 144 fleet command)
The mixed fleet won each match, but sustained on average higher casualties: monofleet's kill/death ratio (miner-wise) was on average 137% and mixed fleet's 80%, but there was quite a lot variance.
Could you retry that test with just Corvettes? I am pretty sure the DDs are just fodder in that situation without proper setup.

That being said, it would be very interesting to see how a max-evasion Cv/DD fleet (with a psi admiral + evasion trait and the precog computer) would perform against a BB fleet led by a regular admiral.

I am also not 100% sure how retreat works. If it checks per hit a fleet of small vessels would obviously have a much harder time to actually down a bunch of big ships.
