And the revolts finally seem to be dyeing down...a bit.

Well the rebellions are lessening, and here's an odd thing about the declaration of independence, the siege was over half way done when independence was declared!

1419 - 1819

Following the rise of Edward the IV England went through a time of prosperity. Some would argue that this was only because the revolts were slowing, but those opinions are not mine. Regardless of that fact, the siege of the Canary Islands was begun, and ended on September 12, 1462. At that date Aragon paid Castille £42,000 for peace. This is (arguably) the most wise desision, as the only alternative involved the loss of vast tracks of land.

Despite the peace Auvergne declared independance from the English. May 1, 1463 was the date. May 11 of the next year marked the start of the siege. The siege ended January 12, 1464 and Auvergne was annexed. England was still devistated from the aftershock of the War of the Roses, and nothing would help it seemed.

1419 - 1819

Absolutly nothing of importance occured to England until October 4, 1470. Edward IV was driven from the throne by a King Henry VI. However, unbenownst to all at the time, he was but a pretender, sent by the French to raise dissent. Many saw the death of the real Henry VI, but none doughted the realness of this “king.” They figured that the dead Henry VI had been placed for the protection of Henry VI. This was logical, as many lords used them from time to time.

England Through the Ages
1419 - 1819

However the pretender’s reign was short, swift, and deadly. Oddly enough Edward IV did not return to the throne by exposing a French plot, but by accusing the pretender of being a warlock. Edward IV provided evidence, and the trial was carried out. In a variation of the dunking methods used for women, “Henry VI” was tossed into the Thames. He sunk, and thus was innocent, but drowned before he was recovered. On April 12, 1471, Edward IV returned to the throne!

July 2, four years later, marked an important date for diplomacy. The England-Aragon-Portugul alliance dissolved, and England joined Modena, Sienna, the Papal States, Mainz, and Brandenburg in alliance. Sadly England would be at war with Poland, Lithuania, Bohemia, and Wurzburg as a result.

Turns out the alliance had been right on time. Castile would declare war on Aragon on July 15. During the war, Aragon would become vassals to Castile, but remain at war. Castile was renamed Spain as a result.

On September 29, 1477, peace came. Poland would pay £56,000 to Modena.

Peace was not to last. On January 13, 1480, a large war blossomed. Modena had declared war on Genoa, and the war would eventually include Bremen, Pommern, Genoa, Sweden, and Mecklenburg against Modena, Sienna, the Papal States, Mainz, Brandenburg, and England.

AN interesting way to get to the throne. Thats a big couple of alliances there but England is the only big powerful one there so I expect to see their BB increase a lot more though annexations of one province minors.

Well, I had to make it weird, but not too weird for it to be implausible.
Actually, I don't think there are any 1 province minors in either alliance!
Hold that thought, Mecklenburg is one.
BTW, France is 6 provinces now, one port, and that is controlled by rebels!

Mmm, with the immediate neighbourhood quite weak, Britain should be safe. If and when the BWB reaches critical, the Rhine and Black Forest regions will become known as the Bloody Swamp - or something

Actually, the Black Forest becomes the Forest of Death, and the Rhine will become the Red River.

Of course, Aragon and Spain are very well off, so I'd watch for them. Burgundy to a lesser degree.

1419 - 1819

On March 10, 1480, the siege of Vendee (recently taken from France by Sweden) was begun by 10,000 English soldiers, later supported by 22,000 soldiers from Mainz. On June 5 France declared war on Mainz. England left the alliance, only to rejoin the alliance 9 days later. September marked major victories in France, once in Ile de France, and one more in Picardy. Only Picardy would be sieged, in the month of September at least.

October 6 had a siege of Paris. A siege of Bremen was launched, but the exact date is unknown. December 26 had the capture of Picardy, and March 5, 1481, was the capture of Bremen. Keep in mind that Bremen was no longer one provincial area, but three. The next day the siege of Vendee was reinstated. June 27 was the capture of Paris.

December 14 marked peace, with Picardy going to England. The did nothing to abate the overall war, and Vendee was captured July 9 of 1482. The offensive campaign into Sweden only gains remark here because of the loss of many thousands of English lives, as many to the elements as to the enemy’s blade.

There is not much of France left for the English to take. Perhaps peace will return once Paris surrenders to its rightful Emglish King.

The blobs are forming. Still I'm surprised how few wars the English have to fight. Still no attack by the Spanish, which would cause quite some problem. On another note, what happened to Burgundy? Are they vassals of Austria or what?
