Hmm. How are revolts, con etc rising? I fear that the democratic consciousness of the American cannot be extinguished, and that Grant's kingdom will be drenched in th blood of revolution, er counter revolution.

I just read through the whole thing. The whole flash-back front-end thing was a tad confusing.... dates would've helped.... But I thought, think, it is great! :D Keep at'em, oh and while you give the Brits in Canada hell, why doesn't the new "fatherly" Grant make a move on the CSA? Those democratic, Brit-huggers shall fall under the crown of the all-mighty Grant :D !!!! Keep at 'em and give 'em hell!

Hurraah!!!!!!! While your at it, pick up Mexico, and maybe south America. How about Britain, too? :D

One question just occurred to me, too.... what happens when Grant dies? I hope he has some good sons (does he?)... if not, you've got trouble. Too bad you don't have a system like CK for the monarchies in the game ;)

Mr. C.: Thanks and glad you seemed to enjoy so far what you have read

Morpheous: Mexico is allied with France and the CSA so i want to be more then prepared when i issue my DoW against them. Also i did do some reserach into Grant's family line.

Grant's children

Frederick Dent Grant
(1850-)
My reserach shows that he was a mediocre general and generally a dissapointment.

Ulysses S. Grant Jr.
(1852-)
Shy, rarely seen in public. But was the only success in the Grant family after his father. He ran a successful business.

Ellen Wrenshall Grant
(1855-)
She seems to be pretty useless unless i decide to marry her off to some other royalty.

Jesse Root Grant
(185:cool:
Doesn't seem really much like king material.

There it is the children of Grant. Nothing that is really amazing but i thinkn that US Grant Jr would be the best successor. All i have to do would be rub out FDG :D

The Canadian War (1864-1865)

Less then ten days after the declaration of war Grant and Seidita crossed the border into Canada meeting no effective resistence. Which isn’t to say there was no resistence being formed. In Ottowa, the current capital of the British colony of Canada, 10,000 Anglo-Canadians were forming into the Royal Canadian Army. They hoped to stall the Americans. The British had to mobilize and cross 3,000 miles of ocean before the United States pushed them completley into the sea.

Grant too was aware of this and ordered Farragut to blockade the supply lines and likely landing sites of the British by sailing to the Gulf of Saint Lawrence. Almost immediently they began sinking transports that were intended for Canadian and the American coast. Without Farragut it would have been likely that the British could have landed, dug in, and beaten the US perhaps capturing Grant and restoring a democratic government. Whether or not that would have happened will forever be mystery.

American troops marched victorious into Tortonto by mid June and by early July Grant had engage the British in Ottowa. The British commander sent his troops outside of Ottowa and dug in on a hill. They would be pushed back and wouuld all regroup to another hill, and another hill, and another hill. The discipline of Canadians was amazing as they refused to surrender an inch of ground without fighting fiercly for it. For five days they fought and hoped someone to relieve them. It never came and they were defeated by July 12th after taking and causing severe casualties.

Well the Royal Canadian Army did receive some relief, it came in the form of 30,000 British and Indian soldiers landing near Boston. They went around the city and headed south to Conneticut. This operation failed on two levels. First the Americans had 20,000 men to contain the Bitish troops. Second the American advance didn’t stop and soon afterward Montreal fell to American troops.

On August 20th the 10,000 Americans attacked a 10,000 British rear guard. About a week later another 10,000 Americans arrived and crushed the British army. Nonetheless a division of British soldiers arrived in New York while the other 10,000 arrived in Conneticut.

When the Americans did arrive in New York they found no trouble in defeating the British troops. Now all 30,000 British troops were fortifying the grounds of Hartford, Conneticut. The 20,000 Americans attacked armed with new breech loading rifles. This battle would last for three long months until the exhausted Americans were forced to withdraw after losing more then 18,800 men and being flanked from the rear by 6,000 Indians.

While all this happened Grant and Seidita’s advances continued with minimal resistence. The only resistence came from the 7,000 man (recently reinforced) Royal Canadian Army in Quebec. Grant arrived in Quebec victorious after a short two hour battle with the weary British division. On the home front Grant tried to relieve the strain of war on his people with the opening of a new opera house in Philidelphia.

While Grant attacked northwards Farragut continued to show his expertise in the art of naval warfare. His 20 ships sank eight British Man-o-Wars and Frigates. His naval pwer still didn’t prevent the landing of another 33,000 primarily Indian soldiers near Philidelphia. The 20,000 men in Boston again attacked Hartford in March. Defeating the British infantry two months later. Just after that Seidita defeated the 33,000 Indians in Philidelphia. Seidita then advanced further south to secure Washington DC from 3300 Indians in mid June 1865.

The last four months truly belonged to Farragut and the navy as the British finally decided to transport the full strength of their navy to bear on the United States. By August 19th 31 British flotillas attacked Farragut’s 18 and yet they are slaughtered almost to the man with only one ships escaping. Even that ships was only at minimal strength and it was decommisioned upon arriving in Ireland as it was beyond repair. The next month a little earlier though twelve British ships atttacked Farragut again this time the British had the sense to escape before their enitre fleet was suk only losing about 1/3 of their ships. To celebrate this victory their was a great parade by General Grant held in Toronto. This however may have been a bit pre-mature since only three days later another 46 flotillas attacked the US 16. The American sailors and ships were superior but even they couldn’t hope to fight against those odds and they manuevered escaping the Gulf of Saint Lawrence.

With so many soldiers and sailors in the US and Canada, Britian must be nearly empty. So Grant finally approaches Prussia for an alliance. They accept with a new second front much closer to home. After about a month of war against the Prussians Britian finally agrees to come to the peace table. The arguments continue for days when finally they reach a decision. America is to gain many conquests, but much of Newfoundland and a small strip of land along the Minnesota-Canada border will remain in British hands in order to not fully lose their base in America. Most importantly though the United States is to be recognized as having it’s zone of control over North America. The final part of the agreement stated the no armies other then the Royal Canadian army are allowed in Canada, this army is not to reach above 30,000 men.

This agreement gave Grant another 3,000,000 people and new oppurtunity to achieve his goals before his death. What was his main goal? Well of course to make sure their was no threat to the United States or his son’s throne, Prince Frederick Dent Grant. And who was a bigger threat to either of those then the Confederate States of America, but over 250,000 men would keep Grnat from attacking his southern neighbor…at least until he was ready.

Preparations for War (1865-1868)

The war elevated the United States to the number four position after UK, France, and Prussia. To further elevate the US to the US Grant wanted to turn inwards. The United States began constructing steel and cement factories in Quebec and Ontario. Also the United States had, by this time, dismantled the last of the former high and middle class with ruinous taxation. It could now begin to rebuild both of these with loyal pro-Grant aristocrats.

A little over a month on Christmas Day 1865 a revolt broke out in India. The Indians had from the war with the United States found that the Western Powers, especially the UK, weren’t invincible. The Indians prepared for the war by forming the Indian Confederacy. This confederacy was made up of all the British states in India, Burma, Tibet, and several other nations. The Kings of these nations met in New Delhi and would vte on issues of war. On December 25, Christmas Day, while the British all celebrated the Indians struck.

The US immediently sent them advisors to teach the Indians about Flintlock, Muzzle Loading, and Breech loading Rifles, in addition to Bronze and Iron Artillery. India was thrown into chaos as General Seidita was prepared to be sent to India.

One month later on January 26 1866, the German North and South Confederations were formed. The north was allied to Prussia and the south allied to Austria. This knocked the United States back into the number seven position in great powers starting with North Germany, Prussia, UK, South Germany, France, Austria, USA, and Italy.

Mid-Summer saw the landing of 20,000 American Infantry and calvary under General Seidita. His troops landed on the southern tip of India and began to fight inwards. The US foughtwithout support from India and with very few supplies. Soon British armies arrived in great number 10,000 then 30,000 and soon upwards of 70,000 men.

While this war raged thousands of miles to the east in the USA Grant was constructino a transcontinental railroad so he could move his troops fast if needed. Many of these actions were stalled by rebellion of the plains indians. Just one of these many names is Sitting Bull, he rebelled against the United States for many months before US troops arived on the scene and crushed his forces.

Chaos continued worldwide when on October 24, the Papal States werw annexed and the Pope was forced to flee to the US after an invitation from Grant. He arrived in NY to meet Grant and many Catholic welcomers. The day after he arrived the capital of the United States was moved to New York. In addition to that Grant converted to Catholisism making the United States Catholic. Finally in one grand ceremony the Pope declared that Grant no longer ruled the United States he ruled the Kingdom of America.

On December 25, 1866 the Ottomans finally defeated the Egyptians after a long war and annexed them into their nation. The Ottoman Empire was again on the rise and so was the Kingdom of America. On April 9, 1867 the Kingdom of America bought Alaska for $15,000,000 in payments as the Kingdom of America could afford it, the US gave 2,000,000 to Russia as a down payment. It took about 3.5 months for the full 15,000,000 plus an extra $1,000,000 goodwill from the KA.

On September 1, 1867 an official comparison was made between the KA and CSA.

Soon after the report the transcontinental railroad was finished. Resourcs could now travel coast to coast with little difficultly. This increase in funds allowed Grant to buy small arms and stockpile the necessary canned food. And by the sixth anniversity of Grant’s conquest of Washington (October 8, 1867) Grant had recruited another 90,000 men to his army and increased the army reserves to 170,000.

Also by late October the withdrawal of Seidita from India had begun. The reason not the lesat of which from a battle of 50,000 British against the 20,000 Americans. The Americans fought for days a losing battle. Seidita left the calvary to guard the rear while the 1,600 infantry made their escape. In the end 18,400 Americans were dead in a war that seemed to be in the British advantage. The front truely collapsed by Febuary 25, 1868 and the Indians were in full retreat.

Serious preparation began by mid November when Jesse Root Grant travelled to St. Petersburg and sealed an alliance with Russia. Christmas Day 1867 mobilized the reserves stretching the limits of the economy to it’s limits.

By March 21,1868 over 370,000 men were in place, another 30,000 on the way by June. The master plan for Grant was spearheads led by Grant and Seidita. Grant would lead the army in the east and Seidita will lead the spearhead in western Texas. The remainder of small army groups and corps will mop up what remains of the Confederate forces.

That same day the Kingdom of America declared war on the Confederate States, Mexico honored its alliance and declared war on the KA, this activated the alliance with Prussia and Russia and they declared war on the CSA and Mexico. France then joins in to defend its interests in Mexico by declaring war on the KA alliance. Thus starting the second war between the states.

Question about the Indian federation: is that an in-game event (one I've never seen) or something you cooked up? Either way, good going with this (although I'm not certain Grant would survive trying to turn the USA (or KA) into a Catholic kingdom).

I have several updates. But my internet has been down. So what I am forced to do is.

1. PLay on my computer (no internet)
2. Type updates on second computer (no internet)
3.Transport via disk for upload (slow computer)

unfortuantly something is wrong with the disk. I'm going to load it up again and see if I can get it to work. And behave, remember I have had none of the rebellions ever be successful...at least in the long term.
