I am reading as well, a map of the current realm status would help visualize the conquests done so far
Only Sicily conquered at present. I will grab a map after the next chapter. (Which is a consolodation period and some conquests are made.) Thanks for reading.
Normal service will resume shortly folks, I will have a chapter up by this weekend or earlier. I now have material up until 1091, (the coming of age of Tancred) once I use up my material we will then have a world update.

Thank you, I just wanted to know if anyone else was enjoying this AAR. I plan on writing the next chapter this Friday, so you can expect the consolidation chapter over the weekend.
I think people are just very hesistant to 'invest' in AARs, since so many of them are stopped after a short time (something I always do, since I almost always lose interest, it's why I always warn potential readers that my AAR will probably die some time, in the first post .)

There's plenty of us Saxon125 included, who complete our AARs so not sure that's a particularly string reason not to read to be honest
Well, if you check the AAR list at the AAR page, most AARs don't go further than page 8
. I'm not saying that people don't finish AARs, I'm saying that people often lurk until they're sure that the writer is serious about writing his AAR before they 'invest' in commenting and the like. But, in the end, it's just speculation, of course. I can't read minds .

In truth I have only finished 1 AAR, The Pendragon Chronicles. And it is just that there was a lack of comments when I knew that there were readers other then Asantahene who were reading this, that I asked if anyone was reading this AAR.
The reign of Bohemond De Hautville, Chapter IV Consolidation and Expansion Part I 1079 - 1084
With Sicily now reclaimed and added to the Kingdom of Sicily, Boehemond could now focus on consolidation. Indeed, the peace in Sicily was a marked contrast to the HRE who years prior had swallowed France and was now facing a massive internal revolt by the French king that the emperor had installed to replace Philippe Carpet. This internal revolt would cause great fragmentation in the HRE over the next decade, before it was finally put down in the 1090’s.
By November 1080, the crown finances were dangerously low, owing to military and naval expenses. Boehemond needed to consolidate his rule of the isle of Sicily by forming its duchy, so he expelled the Jews from Sicily much like his father before him a move that would cause issues for years to come.
With the funds acquired from the Jews, Boehemond formed the county of Sicilia in January 1081, a move that greatly strengthened his authority over the recently gained island. Indeed his authority was further strengthened when his Court Chaplin Faulk sent word that he had converted the county of Castru Jani to the Catholic faith later that year in November. However, the conversation rate greatly slowed following this brief success, for there would be no county conversion for many years to come on the Isle of Sicily.
For the next two years there was peace in Sicily, and with this peace came the thought of expansion. Boehemond growing up had heard many tales of his father’s attempted invasion of the Byzantine Empire, with Sicily in a strong stable position he was intent on doing something similar and so his ambitions turned to the Kingdom of Zeta. Zeta was hemmed in by Croatia to the west, Hungary to the north, both of which were allies to Sicily while to the East there was the Byzantine Empire. Given these factors, Zeta’s small size and lack of allies it was a perfect country for Sicily to acquire to gain a foothold in the Balkans. So in 1083 Boehemond sent his loyal brother, Roger to fabricate a claim on the county of Primorje, within three months he had fabricated a claim on the county and war was declared so beginning the first Balkan expansion war.
The declaration of war was well timed, for Zeta for fighting with the powerful Byzantines over a county claim. The Byzantines swept through the armies of Zeta, leaving them severally weakened and enabling Boehemond and his forces to take the country of Primorje in less then a year. Having only sieged Primorje and the Zetan capital.
Consolidation and small expansions in this chapter, but its nice to get a few years of peace mixed with war. Next chapter we throw Gavelkind out of the window and claim some more land from Zeta. As well as dealing with issues in the Boot itself.

Nice little update though I'm pretty sure you meant conversion not conversation lol
(Facepalm) fixed it. Might try and get a second chapter out this weekend. Plus I have an extra four years of material to work with, to I am set on the chapter department for a while.
really nice. Looking forwards to reading new updates. Btw, how much did/does the HRE disintegrate? And was it only short term, or longer?

Only France broke away from the HRE, (even then I have no idea how they got swallowed in the first place.) there was no massive disintegration unfortunately. God what I would give to see that yellow blob implode.
That is one scary looking HRE. Let's just hope they don't look south.
It looks like you're starting a trend of expelling the Jews whenever you need some quick cash. I'll be surprised if they come back again after that.
