Friends, Romans, forumites, yet again the Devs withhold dev diaries from us until 15:00 CET, despite our ancestral privileges of having DDs at 08:00 (pre-release). Rise up and take back our rights!

If I worked for Paradox, I would just write some stream of consciousness dev diary to shut up the complainers. It wouldn't even discuss any real features. I'd just write whatever was in my head that day.

I'd make sure to use the word "unprecedented" so the impatient people clamoring for their dev diary now could have a meltdown later when they quickly read about a feature that they don't consider unprecedented, despite knowing almost nothing about it.

The dev diaries are free. They can be free and of good quality, but then they will take time. Or they can be free and of poor quality, in which case they can be written quickly. But nothing in the market is free, quick and of good quality.

IMHO, last EUIV DD from Johan was very informative for what happened in I:R and the player base

The most common play-styles, by far, as reported was role-playing and changing history. It is probably not a surprise to anyone that you viewed Victoria to have the best economy, Hearts of Iron the best military, Europa Universalis the best diplomacy and Crusader Kings the best politics.

You also overwhelmingly prefer simulation over boardgame mechanics, and you think that we should focus more on the economical buildup and flavorful content.

If only they had done that poll before the release of I:R. We could've got the game as it will be in 2.0 but as a 1.0.

Oh well, hopefully they won't make the same mistake with EU5 and they will go away from boardgame style and into a more I:R Vicky simulation organic gamplay style.
