The Indians Rise

I will be taking you through the history of the Iroquius tribe.

I decided to use the mod Terra Universalis (The only change is to the wasteland) They had been replaced by known tribes of that ERA.

Chapter 1 - Expanding my territories

Year of our Elder "Bear Paw" 1399 AD

Here is my starting position, Huron's to the North and Lenape to the South.

My first task was to keep the inflation down, while building an army.

My 1st mission was to get Lenape as an ally, but the mission is'nt what I'd hoped for, this would have caused a problem for me.
So I cancelled the mission and took the next one. Which was to gain prestige.

I'd put all my treasury into improving stability. While balancing the books and keeping the inflation at 0.00

My first policy change was towards Centralisation to prepare for westernision, when the europeans show up.

The tribe was not happy with my decision, luckly I'd raised my army to 3k, before the policy was changed.

My next task was to get some advisors to help me run the tribe.

My 1st Magistate went into Cultural Tradition, as all the advisors I wanted, would reduce the Cultural Tradition pot.

Here are the advisors I'd chosen.

- Master of the Mint ** -4 to inflation
- Sheriff * - National tax increase by 1%pm
- Statesman * - For a +3.00 to govement tech. (I'm aiming for Level 10 Goverment, so I can change to a Noble Republic)

When the revolt was taken care of, I'd noticed that Lenape were having their own problems with a revolt.

This gave me an opportunity, to attack Lenape, because their own army would had reduced morale.

This helped me gain an advantage and go to war with Lenape over a tribal fued. (no stability loss) I did however loose 1 stability, as we had good relations.

I was near to defeat, the troops morale nearly lost the battle. When my General "bear paw" gave a final charge (shock) to win by a very small margin.
That could have spelt disaster. However it went my way and I vasseled Lenape.

After the war I vassled Lenape.

I got my first events

One was the Huran's Insulting me, and the other events were to say, some of my advisors had been hired. Giving me more money for the pot.

The Huran's insult gave me a reason for war. Not just yet though. I'd need to build up my national manpower so I can hire more troops.

Huran's army was the same size as mine and Lenape combined. My army was 3K, Lenape was 3k. Huran was 6k

With the extra funding, I've obtained from the hired advisors, this would help me increase my army by another 3k giving me a total army pool of 6k, with the vassel of 3k the total being 9k. I could then go to war with the Hurans.

That's the end of Year 1399. I've done quite a bit in 3 months. More to come

Recap on the previous year

- Vasselled Lenape
- Kept the inflation @ 0.00
- Got much needed money for this years campain

Year of our Elder 1401

year 1401 - 1402

After increasing my armies to 5k, I declared war on the Huron's. Because they preferred mercenaries. I defeated them quite easily.

Siezing all their colonies and marching onto their captial. It fell to the might of the Iroquios.
I annexed them, doubling my territory, in only 2 years.

Now its about waiting for discoveries. To see what other neighbours I may have.

Year of our Elder 1403

Year 1402 - 1403

Had an interesting year. March 1402, the merchant loved me and donated 100 Ducats.

There were 2 new exploits; Lake Huron and Potawatomi

Beginning of 1403, The mission was to Accumilate Money, with the help of the merchant and my reasonable economy, I completed the mission.

April 1403, I was offered a new mission to "incorporate Lenape in our country".

After "Bears Paw" excellent start as elder, he passed away, towards the end of 1403.

We worshiped him and he was forever known as Bears Paw the Conqurer 1368-1403

Making way for the new Elder 5 Admin, 5 Diplomacy, 3 Military

Year of our Elder 1404

Year 1403 - 1406

After a few eventful years, There were 2 new exploits; Sault and Algonquin

Algonquin was going to be my next target. But I'm not sure how much territory they have.

Do I
A: Attack the capital, hoping to Vassel them
or
B: Stay peace and try and find their other territories (if they have any)
and maybe annex them instead.

While I was deciding what to do I got a bad event. My Military was divided.

another decision both will loose me 1 stability

Do I:
A take offensive +1
or
B: Take the defensive approach +1 to Defence

Year 1406 - 1408

I decided to attack Algonquion's, my reason was "Tribe Feud" no stability loss.
I captured their capital, and I found their other territories.

Took them with ease., now I have a serious issue. I've been hit with the event.

"Incapable Ruler"

-33% National Tax reduction
+3.00 Chance of revolts per province
-20 to infamy "not good as this need to be 0, not in the negatives"

IncapableRuler1408.png

Not sure what to do.
Do I;

A: Give Algoniquin Territory back as a vassel state.
or
B: Hope for the best.

Year 1408 - 1415

It was getting difficult for my tribe. I'd really wanted the Elder to die.

With the incapable leader, I'm getting revolts everywhere. This was not helping my prestige.
Each Rebel was loosing me prestige.

I'll just need to hold out for the province cores to loose the incapable ruler. Only another 40yrs (LOL) can I survive.

I'd decided to put all my magistate into cultural tradition. I'd saved them and increased the cultural tradition to 99.10%

Time to change the advisor.

Master of the Mint - +10% to reduce inflation. (I was able to tax more)
High Judge - Reduction in national revolts by 0.90pa
Statesman - +12.00 to goverment tech (Still aiming for Noble Republic)

Let see how the new advisors will help me.

Year of our Elder 1415AD
