gave the new radio-function a try, after the update actually broke the music-mod i had installed (normally i'd listen to sc2000-soundtrack to get me into the mood). the other two stations were okay, wasnt expecting tracks from other paradox-games, but it was gold fm that got me into a very cheerful mood. all of a sudden i was swaying, humming and sometimes even singing along. i really hope the devs add some more songs to the playlist! :)

Thank you for the feedback! This was our first try with a radio so let's see what the future holds :)

Any chance we can add some of our songs on it? Don't want to get my Frank Sinatra and Beatles albums go to waste. Would be nice to hear some ads in between my favourite songs. I love gold FM. It can give rockstar' s gta station a run for its money

There was a missed opportunity here I think: Summer in the City would of been an obvious addition :p
Modding mate modding, hopefully in an hour or so I'll reverse engineer a way to add music to the radio station.

i put all the songs in a spotify-playlist; so if you're far from your computer and they aren't synched on your music player of choice - worry no longer! ;)

Aargh!
I really enjoy the Gold tracks. It's been years since I've listened to any Jan and Dean, Mary Wells and the Drifters to name but a few. All great classics, but it is still a small sampling and when you play for hours, that sampling can become quite repetitive. So, the last thing I would need would be other ways to hear the same samples when what I really need is something completely different.
So while I appreciate your efforts to help proliferate the Gold material, if I use Spotify at all it will be to choose an entirely different playlist. Thanks anyway ;)

I really do like the goldFM station... it could use a couple more tracks a couple more blurbs\commericials etc; to avoid some repetition, still great though, same with some of the others. I do have to credit Paradox and CO though they did a really professional job with it, especially how all the commercials and talk blurbs are not only hilarious and match the station, but they nearly all blend well with the tail end of most tracks so it's not jarring, especially the mellow classical guy that one is just perfect in my view.

gold fm's playlist rellay surprised me. i knew some of the songs from my childhood, but nothing specific like for example the artists. now i do have the playlist as a starting point and, if the devs are kind enough to add more songs, i'll again update the playlist.

the Gold playlist is disappointing- it features the original artists but not the original hit recordings. Tracks featured are inferior reworked versions. Also one major error- "Spooky" is credited to the Classics but the track featured is actually Martha Reeves.

Huh? TBH I haven't listened to the Classics station at all and yet I know I've listened To Martha (Vandellas) Reeves sing Spooky on Gold.

I was musing over this as I drove home today and I kinda came up with a wishlist for Gold that would fit the current playlist.
Dionne Warwick - Walk on by
Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons - Sherry Baby
Bobby Darin - Mack the knife
Sam Cooke - Cupid
Donovan - Mellow Yellow
The Temptations - My Girl
The Delphonics - Didn't I blow your mind
Jimmy Cliff - Many Rivers to Cross
Alton Ellis - Sh'boom
The Animals - House of the Rising Sun
Mamas and the Papas - California dreamin'
Procul Harum - A Whiter Shade of Pale
Roberta Flack - The first time ever I saw your face

well .. they're giving us free music, so i'm not really complaining 'bout how some of the tracks sound compared to the original recordings.

Ah ha! seeing as you're the music afficionado and former dj, you could answer me this...
What does the term 'Gold' refer to? How does one categorise music for Gold?
Is it classic tracks that are so highly valued in quality that they're described as 'Gold'?
Or is it more likely that they're classics from 50 years ago? In which case music from the 70's wouldn't be appropriate... yet, gawd it's only 4 years away! I'm so old argh!
