I just love the games that these people make. Very very good games. Europa Universalis 2 is excellent. Hearts of Iron is also quite good. The ability to modify scenarios is very nice.

So I would like to have the same discussion as was done in EU2 Forum. That is: HOW FAR BACK can Hearts of Iron reasonably be modified to cover.

The goal is to connect EU2 and HOI. Is this crazy? It will sacrafice some historical accuracy, there is no doubt. Most of all there is the serious time scale difference. HOI moves rather slowly through the years when compared to EU2.

Example: Extend EU2 to 1899. Modify HOI to begin in 1900.

Forget how crazy an idea this is. The question is where best can that transition be made.

The EU2 mod needed is already available, I think.

Has anyone tried such a mod to HOI, please advise. Thanks!

I would say start from 1900 to 2000....gives it that nice rounded feeling....you get to cover both World Wars, Korea, Vietnam and all the commie insurgency stuff inbetween, not to mention modern day engagements, though i think the engine will have a tough time replicating the new world order.

I'll assume here that you mean before 1935 and after 1918.

And the various mods are indeed adding these periods to the game.
HOI: TGW is a mod adding World War One
The Modern day mod adds, oddly enough, the modern world.
Finding someone to do a cold war mod shouldn't be that hard.
