The Emperor Manuel III was an interesting charachter, worthy of a short discourse on his charachter, as those who have been reading this chronicle know he had his first child by age 11, his good looks and rapid physical maturity led to his affairs with many women. In fact, over his short five year reign it is beleived he slept with all of the women of the court and most of Italy's Noblewomen, all by thier choice, all abandoned after one or two goes. This Passion would eventually lead to his downfall at the young age of 20. His other Insatiable Passion was the Building of his Empire, First he annexed Crete.

Then He Annexed a bunch of Small Muslim Emirates, and so did Ak Konoyu.

After This He Spent Much Time Lowering Infamy and Building the Economy. Advances in production technology allowed the construction of metalworking workshops in all themata, leading to a 15% increase in imperial revenue. He went on a tour de Italy to lower infamy and to find new women, and he finished the Restoration of the Hagia Sophia and constantinople. Finally he began sending out invitations for the 200th aniversary of the reconquest of Constantinople in 1261 from the Latin Empire, Even the Vile Venetians were invited. That being on the condition that they come unarmed. A Celebration he planned, that he would not live to see.....

I Mentioned Earlier the Emperors Assasination, The Emperor as he excersized his skills in the bedroom with much of Europe's Nobility his wife receded into the background. The Heirs to the Thrones of Serbia (before it was destroyed) and Montenegro (and possibly georgia) respectively are both Palaigios bastards, Otherwise I am unaware, its not like he lived long enough for any of these bastards to do anything notable

Chapter V: Ioannes IX; Peoples opinions of you are Important

Ioannes IX ascended the throne at 9 years of age, his first few years were uneventful, it was after he reached majority that things became interesting. The 200th aniversary of the Liberation of Constantinople was a magnificent celebration, the latins seemed unimpressed, possibly because they were invited as an insult to them but they could have at least been more polite. The Troubles and Tribulations of His Reign did not begin till Ak Konuyu got a little to cocky and declared war.

They Were Quickly defeated and no Problems were incurred, however later the mistake would be realized in full force. The Emperor was given a mission to retake southern italy from the Franks, mainly Venetians and Portuguese at this time, he quickly occupied these territories and venice gave up what was demanded from them, but portugaul would not give up. The Imperial Fleet Was Stuck Mainly in port at this point because of a superior Castillian-Portuguese fleet patrolling around sicily where much of the army was concentrated, then it happened, Ak Konuyu declared war with reconquest as thier Causes Belli. The Imperial force of 20,000 men not in sicily easily defeated and annexed Ak Konoyu. Then It happened, for about a decade the empire had been hovering just under a critical point where anger towards us would surpasss fear of us and all the worlds powers would descend upon us like rabid dogs, by an astronomically tiny amount this line was crossed and Rapidly the Empire Found Itself At War With Portugaul, Castille&Leon, The Golden Horde, The Kingdom of Hungary, and the Mamlukes. With Half the Army stuck in Sicily it was up to The 20,000 man force at home to deal with these new threats.

The War at First went well, Hungarys Armies of Fuedal Levies and Horse Archers were Quickly defeated and a wite peace was struck. The Mameluke Armies were also quickly annhilated and a concession of defeat was all that was demanded from them. then there was the Golden Horde. The Mongols Attacked Kaffa, A Roman Outpost on the Far side of the Black Sea. The Roman Legions Fought thier way through a mongol occupied georgia defeating all in thier path as they went and arrived in kaffa, and lifted the siege. Then the Return Journey was tried, in the mountains of Georgia the Legion was ambushed by Mongol Horsemen. A Retreat back In the General Direction of Kaffa was Forced and the Imperial Fleet Failed to Blockade the Straits of Azov in time, as a result the horsmen wiped out half the roman army at kaffa, forcing the Emperor to Bribe the barbarians, like the huns of old to direct thier attentions elsewhere. On the Bright side Castille Got Tired of War leaving Only Portugaul to Fight, and this had great effects. Portuguese War Exhaustion Shot Through the Roof, and they finally conceded to handing over sicily and thier part of italy.
